I only thought of it because you were saying there might be a new Thor and Iron Man and I know Marvel Comics turned both of those characters into chicks and I just pray they don't something stupid like that in their movies.

No I said Captain America, I never said new Thor. Sorry if you misunderstood my post. There's enough Avengers they can put him aside after Hemsworth leaves.

Just curious - why the need to put someone's race in the mix? Is Thor becoming a "chick" supposed to indicate she's white? Is white the default race now? I'm just curious why people like you constantly bring race in the mix when it's a black person yet you don't when it's a white person. Which I find pretty pathetic and sad.

They wouldn't be "turning" anyone into a girl, black or white. New characters would be taking up the mantle of old characters, but those old characters wouldn't be suddenly changing gender and/or race. Just like how we've had 8 different Green Lanterns, or 3 different Ant-Men. A new character taking on the role of an old character doesn't wipe that old character from existence.

The original characters are ingrained into the modern social lexicon. The new characters have only been around for a few years and were unpopular. I think for a lot of people after Avengers 4 that's them done with the MCU.

Personally i'm a little burnt out, i still think the movies are great fun and even think the current Phase is way better than Phase 2. But after Avengers 4 i won't be catching them in the cinema for a while unless they do something really impressive

The two tribes deliberately aren't as in tune with each other's releases as that, and the general public have other concerns.

It makes sense to place the trailer with Last Jedi, anything else would be a surprise.

Oh they absolutely do it on purpose. Any time DC unveils a big trailer or opens a movie, Marvel one-ups them right after.

Jedi is a given, but the countdown on the Russo's twitter seems to indicate we are now 2 days away.

At least the DCU keep the powers of their heros in check, even Superman’s. All of Marvel’s superheroes are turning into the Hobbit version of Legolas: a ridiculous version of the character that does such impossible stunts, it was easily out of scope. He might as well have ran across sea foam from the white shores of Middle Earth to Valinor.

Very smart decision Kevin Feige depowered most of their heroes, gives a certain visceral feel to the action sequences. I'm interested in the cosmic combat of The next two Avengers films to see how the Russos handle that (I'm feeling more Dr Strange) cause you can lose that sense of verisimilitude and just switch off.

But going by the footage of Infinity War they seem to be sticking to that style atm. I seriously thought Stan Lee was TOAA but they even nerfed that.

There are definitely things that the more "human" Avengers shouldn't really be able to do so easily in the films. Black Widow's antics on the motorbike in WS, for instance. Having to use CGI to create such stunts is essentially admitting that we're being fed a complete fantasy, but the problem with teamups is keeping lesser powered characters relevant when you've got Thor and Hulk who could carry the whole fight without trying (I know, I know, teamwork ùber alles and all that)...

Is there anything in the comics they can bring in to "superpower" the entire Avengers and make them all ultra capable? The Infinity Stones themselves?
