I've always preferred DC when it comes to comics, animated series and movies, but Marvel has been constantly making amazing live action movies and I enjoyed all of them.

Now, thoughts about the movie...

Thanos gets the purple stone first, which means one of his first scenes will be him f**** up Xandar. That should be impressive. 2nd will be the blue stone, which apparently Loki offers to him. Yellow stone maybe third? I am guessing the orange soul stone is in Wakanda and therefore the battle from the trailer. I don't particularly like that as there is too much stone involvement coming from Earth with Tesseract and the Eye already. I hope Doctor Strange doesn't bite the dust when Thanos gets that one.

Seeing the Guardians interact with the Avengers is one of the things Im most excited about this movie.

Also, after this movie ends... we get AntMan 2 and Captain Marvel? Feels like those will be a chore instead of having Avengers 4 right after it , which is what we will all want. And what will those movies be about? I know Captain Marvel happens in the 90s, but what about Ant Man 2? Curious about that.
Ant-Man and the Wasp picks up after Civil War and is before events of Infinity War.

They don't show Thanos until the end of the Avengers movie.

But it's stated by the Others about Thanos although not by name as a threat to Loki.

I think it might be more to do with the lighting making him look that way, as I do get what you mean about him not looking as purple. Like those posted screenshots from GoTG.

Thanos gave Loki the Chitauri army in exchange for the Tesseract.

An unlikely idea just popped into my head. I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this.

1. The two upcoming Avengers films were tentatively titled Infinity Wars parts 1 & 2 for some time.

2. After the Russos took over, A3 was titled Avengers: Infinity War, and A4 was listed as untitled, with some rumors suggesting that the actual title is being held back as it would be a spoiler.

3. Captain Marvel is confirmed to be released between A3 & A4 and taking place in the 1990s. Also: Skrulls are involved.

So, how's this for a possibility: Avengers: Infinity War is not only Thanos collecting the Infinity Stones, but also the full story of him being eventually thwarted & defeated. A4 is actually titled something like Avengers: Skrull Invasion as a continuation of the setup from Captain Marvel. Thus the spoiler in the title is that Thanos' story is mostly resolved in the one film...

It sort of tracks. While many may feel that Thanos' story may be cramped if held to only one film (even if it is 2.5+ hours), others might feel it would be too stretched out if it is over two films of that length.

I thought the trailer was cool, which should be the case to all CBM fans. The mood seems darker (my preference), which should be appropriate given the circumstances. What I am really curious about is: given the more humorous GotG2 and the comedy fest of Thor: Ragnarok, I really want to see how they transition to this movie... Will this be an oxymoron, end-of-the-world comedy?..... I sure hope not... how about a more serious movie for this one, a la Winter Soldier? Forget the kid friendly/ general audience friendly take ...please?

It can be serious w/ jokes here and there to break the tension.

Not a big deal.

You do realize that it's from the same directors as Winter Soldier and Civil War, right? I think it's reasonable to assume that the film will be similar in tone and style to the other MCU films the directors have made.

But don’t you know, all Marvel films are the same! All just comedies that have superheroes in them... excluding Civil War, Winter Soldier, Iron Man, Iron Man 3, ect.

^^ My thoughts from the moment they announced Thanos as the overall Phase 1/2/3 villain at the very beginning.

And since most of these movies follow the overall direction of the Comic universe, give or take,
[Show spoiler]Secret Invasion
is the most likely Title of Avengers 4. And we will most likely have
[Show spoiler]these guys (or most), as the Secret Avangers

Which gets me more excited for the next phase. Also things get will even more interesting when
[Show spoiler]Marvel gets FF and X-Men (because I now believe it's inevitable, regardless of what Feige said) and adds other key components.
, Which is one of the reasons why I believe the held back and changed the title of Infinity Wars 2. Their overall vision of the cinematic universe as a whole is why no one can touch them.

[Show spoiler]Then again, this can all be bologne and...

It may be the same directors but Civil War didn't have the gravitas of Winter Soldier Imo and that's why I love that movie and only enjoy Civil War. Winter Soldier just had the perfect blend of story and action with consequences from the fallout of SHIELD/HYDRA whereas Civil War didn't come close to the high stakes it should have had from the comics. It was more of a slapping match between heroes and very few consequences unlike the comic.

I think Infinity War looks like it will actually combine Winter Soldier and Civil War ideas a lot better by the look of the trailer. Thanos will be that major global threat you can actually believe the Avengers will struggle against and could lose to. It seems to have real stakes like Winter Soldier and includes a much bigger global scale that Civil War tried to toy with but Imo didn't quite get to represent.

Yes of course I realize that, but based on the last two comedies we got, my curiosity is, has the go-forward tone changed for MCU in general? I hope not, but how abrupt/out of place will it be if our GotG crew all of a sudden are serious characters? Or if the Hulk is no longer the loveable, “surfer-dude” and is now a force of nature, dangerous monster, barely controllable character??? Get my drift?
