Thanos is a mutant too. If you know the history behind Thanos and the X-Men, you'll know there is a connection there. Even if it's not direct.

I stand corrected. I always thought Thanos was just an “alien”. I didn’t know he was a mutant of his race. Good to know. I was mostly trying to get across the fact that Steve Rogers and Johnny Storm are not mutants.

Thanos is not a mutant. Cyberpunk just likes to connect everything back to the X-Men. Thanos is a superhuman as he carries the Deviant gene.

Not just that, but his race is closely related to humans. Which is why Eternals (Thanos' race) looks exactly like humans. They are cousins. Thanos looks the way he does because he is a mutant of his own race, not because he is an alien. This is partly due to the fact that Celestials experimented on early humans millions of years ago. They engineered humans to be Eternals, and the ones that were left behind on earth eventually evolve to become the X-Men.

Kal-El of Krypton is a meta not born of Earth, why would he be a mutant?

Tomato, tomahto, cancer, lymphoma, Japan, Nippon. If Thanos' race is closely related to humans, then that means Eternals can carry mutated genes as well. Not to mention, Thanos also had cancer once in the comics. You know, like humans do.

Of course. X-Men was the shit in the 90s. I highly doubt most of you guys even cared about The Avengers before the MCU.

But seriously, I'm not trying to connected everything to X-Men just because I'm being a fanboy. After all, I also said that Deadpool is not a mutant. And I love Deadpool even before the movie. The thing is, X-Men got so popular at one point that mutant the population in the Marvel universe grew very big. It was at a point where Marvel felt they had to spread mutants all over other Marvel properties just for continuity sake. Thanos is one of them. He is not an X-Men character, but he IS a mutant by definition.

Hey that's totally inappropriate.

But I suppose if Disney can allow orgy and anus jokes in Thor: Ragnarok, then a hard-on comment is okay here.

You got me there with your first comment. I hardly ever read a lot of comics when I was younger. If I did, it were mainly Spider-Man or Batman (as those are my two fave superheroes) or various graphic novel titles. But since this comic book movie boom in the entertainment industry, I have gone out and ventured into the further world of Marvel and DC.

Don't forget jokes about porn, erectile dysfunction, masturbation, rape, etc.

And people claim that Disney only makes movies for kids when there are plenty inside jokes that adult will only get.

I'm actually kinda starting to feel bad for Thor. He lost his mother, father, The Warriors Three, broke up with Jane, loses his eye, his whole city was completely destroyed, the Asgardians appear to be all dead in the Infinity War trailer and it looks like Thanos may in fact kill of Loki as well. Like, shit!

Glad that Whedon is not making Infinity War! Biggest superhero event on live action. Bring it on!

Well as long as he's still cracking jokes, I doubt he's that traumatized.

That's the joke. Marvel relies way too much on humor. However, I'm pretty sure the Russo brothers will take this a lot more seriously than Thor: Ragnarok.
