I will never know, I get more than my fill of Thor in the team-up films, I can find better things to do with my time than watch him try to outwit Loki in his solo films.

Agreed. At this point I have more faith in The Russos than Whedon.

It needs to be serious, but humor is welcome, as long as it's not too forced.

Having said that, it goes against my sensibilities, but I really did enjoy Thor: Ragnarok quite a bit.

Whedon's long running joke throughout the films are meh. Like 'Language' in Age of Ultron and ' Brunch ' in JL.

The 'Language' stuff in Age of Ultron with Cap was actually funny and some of the best stuff in the movie for me, but I really thought the film itself was blah, and Ultron was crap.

Yeah when compared to ' Brunch' , 'Language' was actually funny.

Whedon totally nailed the team dynamic and established a real sense of commraderie in his Avengers films. Civil War and Infinity War are building off the groundwork that he laid.

And I prefer jokes like “language” over “does anyone have any orange slices”.

Yeah, Joss Whedon over does it with the humor and one-liners in every comic book property he writes for.

Yeah, the language joke was great in a bad film, while the orange slices was bad in a great film.

The humor isn't the problem, it's the tone and way it's employed. I prefer irony and sarcasm. GOTG 2 and Spider-man had the perfect balance but Thor Ragnarok went waaaaaaayyyyyyy to far into outright cartoonish buffoonery.

I'm relieved that Whedon isn't near Infinity War.

It also depends on the characters as well. Someone like Spider-Man is suppose to be a funny character. In fact, he is not funny enough, if anything. Where as a character like Thor is suppose to take himself seriously. Not saying Thor should be dark and gritty, that's not what I'm saying at all. Just that that's part of the fun of Thor interacting with other heroes. Like when Iron Man mocked Thor for his Shakespearean talk in The Avengers movie. Or how Spider-Man calls Thor Goldilocks in the comics books some times.

In time, you will know what it’s like to lose, to feel so desperately that you’re right, yet to fail all the same. Dread it, run from it, destiny still arrives.....fun isn’t something one considers when balancing the universe. But this, does put a smile on my face.
