It is but if you consider the notion that the TV characters might show up in this two part INFINITY WAR saga, one billion starts to make a bit of sense.

I doubt it'll get that high. But, it does depend on how many characters get put into this two parter. If the TV characters from Netflix and ABC, combined with the movie characters are all present and accounted for, I could see it potentially getting that high.

I wouldn't expect too much of the TV/Netflix characters to be included, though I could see the shows covering the Infinity War from their perspective considering there's a year in-between the two films.

I can actually believe that about the budget. As click baity as the article may be, they made a great point about the salaries for the above the line talent. As an example, Daniel Craig could apparently end up pocketing $60M for his role in Spectre and that's just for ONE guy, so factor in RDJ (who we know has had some astronomical Marvel paydays thus far), Evans, Johansson, Hemsworth, Jackson, Renner and Ruffalo PLUS all the other supporting faces that might be used (Smulders, Mackie, Stan, Rudd, Hiddleston, Cooper, Bautista, Saldana etc) alongside the breakout star that is Chris Pratt and that's one hell of a wage bill for the movie talent alone, never mind anyone on the TV side!

And, as said, they're apparently shooting the whole thing on the new IMAX digital cameras (based upon the large format Alexa 65) which will ramp up the post production costs hugely, not just for handling that raw workflow alone but all the CG etc., especially if it's true that the IMAX version of the camera will have special 'reverse anamorphic' lenses to squeeze the traditionally tall 1.44 IMAX frame into the wider 2.1 native sensor of the camera. 1.44 VFX @ 6K throughout (to match the res of the sensor) or even at 4K will cost an absolute fortune too.

Whats not to believe even if it just stays at the Ultron pace it is now at 1.4 billion which lets not forget tv revenue, etc. for years to come. If you can turn 1 billion spent into 2.8-3billion why is that not a good idea lol

Here you go:

What's not to believe? Even if the gross for each of the Infinity War movies remains, at minimum, on pace with what Age of Ultron made - now at 1.4 billion - you still manage a profit. And let's not forget the revenue generated by home DVD/streaming sales and the television broadcast rights for years to come, etc. If you can turn 1 billion spent into 2.8-3billion, why is that not a good idea? laugh out loud.

It would be amazing if the billion budget is so Chris Pratt can have a large role.

Seems like Disney kind of locks in their money on the contracts. Even if Pratt got more... it would still be smaller. BUT w/ Feige having to answer to Horn instead of Perlmutter. Maybe they all get raises and get properly paid?

Well, the other Avengers cast members were apparently annoyed that RDJ was getting such phat paypackets so maybe something's happened on that front, but if their wages got bumped up you can guarantee that RDJ wanted more - and they'll give it to him too. He's not even technically the star of Civil War and yet he's still getting $40M + bonuses! So for these two Infinity War movies where he's the actual star I can see where the $200M figure comes in.

That's just ridiculous how much he gets paid. It's no wonder they aren't making Iron Man 4.

To be fair, you can understand why they baulked at beefing up Iron Man's role in Civil War! But Feige pleaded his case and out came the cheque book once again.

When all's said and done RDJ's involvement in the MCU will have earned him close to half a billion dollars. Mr Tax Man will have his cut to be sure, but a quarter billion take home still isn't chump change.

The Final Avengers films should include every (still living) heroes from the Marvel films and tv shows. That would be an awesome pay off for watching everything.

And then the exciting thing is Phase 4 could be new TV shows, movies and Avengers with no sequels to stuff in Phase 3.

The final shot of Infinity War Part 2 should show them assembled in one place, posing heroically, then fade into a specially commissioned Alex Ross painting of the same shot. The End.
