I have to agree. I enjoyed Ragnarok, but it absolutely felt like it was trying WAAAY too hard to be funny. The balance was just wrong, and ultimately I thought it was just mid-tier MCU.

Because it robbed the movie of any gravitas or drama and made scenes such as
[Show spoiler]Odin's death
have zero impact on the audience. It was an enjoyable movie but leaned too heavily into the comedy.

Yeah, Thor and Loki basically shrugged off Odin's death. (yeah, it's been almost three months - I'm not using spoiler tags lol)
Then they flippantly killed off the warriors three the same way.

The Warriors Unmemorable to use their correct names; did anyone even care about them in the first place?

But they were close to Thor and if they had to kill them off should have had more impact on him than just like any other faceless background soldier getting killed.

I did.

They were well depicted in Thor and are basically his teammates.

In Dark World, the team defended Hogun's realm and Volstagg & Fandrall helped Thor & Loki escape.

But im also coming into it with time invested as a reader.

Fair play; I enjoyed the first Thor movie; didn't care for the second one at all and haven't read any of the comics since the 80's so I'm probably not the best person to judge how they were depicted.

In the end...Thor was good and Dark World might be the weakest in the MCU, so I can see folks not really caring for the Warriors Three.
Only Sif has any real dialogue the first 2 films.
And she at least was featured on Agents of S.m.e.a.r.e.d.

I just want a fantastic film with good team-building moments and lots of laughs. Expecting almost all of the best action in the sequel.

My interpretation of Ragnarok is that it's what you'd get if you took all of the current moviemaking technology back in time and gave it to someone in the 1980s, and that is a compliment as far as I'm concerned. It's just a lot of fun and I love the look and feel of it all.
