And what will be the plot? Dances With Wolves never made a sequel he could steal the plot from.
Pocahontas has a sequel, just use that plot.

Also I expect Infinity War to open very big, but not Force Awakens (the first true sequel in the franchise in over 30 years was a special event) level, and do think it's possible it ends up #3 domestic total in the MCU behind Avengers and Black Panther as again those feel more like defining event films.
Didn't Avatar do well because of the 3D?

Based on that preview before Black Panther, I am starting to wonder if the Guardians are in this at all before the end scene.

Didn't James Gun say they have a 'small' part? All we really know is Thor is paired up with them in space, and as you've said they might not get more exposure until the climatic battle with Thanos in space.

I think the Thor scenes will be early on in the movie based on the leaked footage from D23 and the end scene of Ragnarok. Tons of leaked footage, Ragnarok and toy spoilers coming up...

[Show spoiler]The Thor Ragnarok end credits scene is Thor and Loki seeing Thanos' ship and the D23 footage has someone walking over a bunch of dead bodies,
assumed to be Asgardians. In the leaked footage you see Thor wind up on the Guardians ship, again probably taking place after Thanos/Black Order attack the Asgardians. The person walking over the bodies is supposed to look like Loki because he's handing the tesseract over but others speculate that it is Corvus Glaive and not Loki.

Thor's new weapon is a big hammer axe which got leaked recently from one of the upcoming action figures and it appears to be made by/from Groot.
So either way, it looks like a lot of Thor's beginning scenes will tie in with the Guardians.

Certainly was a factor, and more generally the spectacle of it all helped draw audiences to it. But there certainly had been a number of notable digital 3D releases before it so not like it was brand new, and 30% of domestic and over 40% of the worldwide box office still came from 2D screenings (there were some countries not as equipped with 3D screens at time)- given it made 2.7 billion worldwide, it would've been a hit with just the 2D box office.

Where is the Lego version of the trailer? Don't they usually have it a week or so after the normal trailer comes out.

Yes but whats going to be the advantage of going to the best imax theater in town, which has 15/70/laser tech, than going to any imax digital a.k.a LIEmax theater ? the movie was filmed using the arri 2d cameras which is only 1:90 aspect ratio

im asking because its an hour drive..

Regardless of which IMAX you see it in, it's going to have the same aspect ratio. My suggestion would be to do what's best for you.

The advantage to me is I'm actually paying for the real IMAX experience. IMAX tickets here are the same price regardless if it's the real IMAX or LieMax.

But the movie isn't shot in 70mm so honestly it won't matter. So if I was in your shoes I'd go to the closet one to you. [emoji4]

IMAX laser is $4 more than standard digital IMAX, and $2 more than digital IMAX with 12 Channel sound and the upgraded seats of laser, near me.

As for advantages, you get a much larger screen (I think all laser screens are minimum 80 feet wide), probably better sound (some IMAX digital theaters also use 12 Channel sound, but I think most are still 6 Channel), and better image quality (haven't seen a film in both IMAX laser and digital IMAX to compare, but when the IMAX laser theater used 15/70 projection there was a noticeable difference even in straight DMR releases).

If that is worth traveling an hour and potentially a bit higher ticket cost is up to you. I still like IMAX digital as well and personally an hour is about as far as I would go to see a film in most circumstances.
