Technically, it was originally advertised as "Infinity War-Part 2" before dropping that title as they (Russo Brothers) realized it's different than what was main storyline with Part 1.

Then Feige went on to say Part 1 deals more with an earth setting, while Part 2 has a more intergalactic/space setting.

That's odd because The Avengers 4 set photos show that they are still on earth. Now see, if The Avengers were dealing with Kang or the Kree-Skrull war, then yes. THAT would be different. But if they are still dealing with Thanos and the infinity stones, then how the hell is that different? It's like saying the first half of The Dark Phoenix Saga is different than the second half, which it is. But it's still counts as one storyline, so I don't know.

True, but Feige has said that "if the Avengers survive (Infinity War) I'd like to see more adventures with them in space." To me, the concept of Avengers 4 having to deal with time-travel is space-ish enough. Feige has since said that Infinity War/Avengers 4 is not one story cut in two parts but rather two differently distinctive stories sharing the same element.

I believe that element may be Thanos and the Gauntlet. Who knows, maybe the outcome of Infinity War causes a rift in the Marvel Universe? And the Avengers have to fix that fallout with the assumption of traveling through time/multiverses and/or dimensions. This still leaves Thanos at the center as the villain in my opinion.

DC disappointed with Justice League, so in my opinion they already sank their ship less than halfway through the voyage, but all I can hope for now is that Marvel's Infinity War and Avengers 4 and Fox's X-Men: Dark Phoenix are great movies and solid closing points for each franchise, even if the franchises do continue beyond those films. I can accept if we don't get too many great superhero movies after them, but those are important films, so I hope we at least go out on high notes with them as worthy finales.

Feels like we are now entering a new era of Marvel. Not just movies, but in general. Even Spider-Man is back to being Marvel's mascot.

Being out of touch with a lot of crap in comics in recent years, I'm forced to ask who have they been using primarily as their "mascot?" I'm guessing Iron Man?

Iron Man and Cap have been out front since Civil War. Captain Marvel is now the third. This year will see a serious push for Spidey, Ant-man and Wasp.

Iron Man. yeah, that's what I figured.

I wonder how long it will take for Marvel to make Black Panther front and center of every group shot, much like how DC has done with Wonder Woman.

I wouldn't be surprised if Infinity War starts pushing more T'Challa in their promos.

If you ask me, Rocket should be the center of attention.

I'm starting to get sick of Tessa Thompson's SJW comments.

Me too. She's annoying to me and I didn't really enjoy her overacting in Thor. Not only that she act like there has never been a woman in any Marvel movie or TV show and that she was the first. But blah! lol.

Superhero movies and TV in general has always had strong female characters for decades, so I don't know WTF Tessa Thompson is talking about. Just because her character is a strong female heroine, doesn't mean a movie about her is called for. Hell, she is not even the same Valkyrie from the comics.

That's the cool thing right now. If a side character is liked in a movie, they deserve their own movie!

It's not superhero fatigue as we'll no longer see the endless sequels of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk. Instead, it's the beginning of a 'clean-slate' so to speak. That alone should keep audiences interested coming back to theaters.
Agreed.
Interchangeable characters, portrayed as well as Marvel do, will keep things fresh for a while.
They will always leave us wanting more. I hope.

Last Jedi was 152 minutes, so Disney probably won't interfere with this.

Yeah, unlike WB they're not afraid of movies hitting the 150min mark. Especially with their Pirates franchise being the lengthiest of all Disney films.
