AoU was a great movie, not sure why it got so much disdain (probably Whedon turning into an SJW on twitter didn't help).
To me it will get better as the years go on, whereas the first Avengers movie won't be as fun on subsequent viewings, AoU will age better. Also Quicksilver, sorry, guy who looks remarkably like Quicksilver, was a cool character who didn't get enough love. |

I really liked Age of Ultron. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of is the Natasha and Bruce romance, felt incredibly random and unnecessary.

I agree. I didn't hate the pairing, but it was random and didn't seem necessary. I do like Hulk's response to it, resulting in his Ragnarok character Last edited by Mandalorian; 02-27-2018 at 09:47 PM. |

Age of Dulltron was trash that felt too much like a redux of the first one with a villain, his drone army and the inclusion of the scepter. Doesn't help that Ulton's plan was moronic in the extreme, even for a comic book movie. To me Civil War should have been Avengers 2, leaving the possibility of a third Captain America solo film.
What bothers me most is that there was no set-up and Ultron became a crazed murder-bot from the beginning. Stark should have created this A.I. program, using Chitari tech and old work left over from Zola. He's doing this to build a drone army to fight the next invasion. But what if Ultron became self-aware and decided that he didn't want to be used in this manner? He wants freedom but Stark tries to shut him down. This sets off Ultron who goes off to create his own army and lead a crusade for A.I.'s. The rest of the team learns this and sets off a debate about civil rights and if Ultron is a sentient being then doesn't he have the right to live? Sure, I want action but I also need a bit more meat to the story rather than "MURDERBOT KILL-KILL-KILL!!!". |

Ultron and Loki and both films are nothing like each other.
Ultron/Stark sets up the Sokovia Accords, Zemos motivation, Bucky’s redemption, TChallas jump start, and the Avengers team fracture. Loki and The Chitari bring the Avengers together. Ultron takes Tonys insecurity of security and abstracts it to the Nth degree. Loki isnt trying to destroy the world. He wants to rule after letting Thanos take over. Not a redux at all. |

How is there no setup? Stark used a highly unstable possibly sentient piece of alien technology, powered by an infinity stone to create an AI that would help him protect the world and run his already existing drone army. He explicitly wanted "A suit of armour around the world" and that sentient piece of tech, examined it's directive for peace on earth, took a glance at what we as a species are capable of and our history of atrocities and decided to truly save the world both humanity and The Avengers were obstacles that either needed to be brought under heel or eliminated so the world could prosper without us. Ultron unfortunately also like his creator had his own creator/god complex. It is also possible that that theory he was working with Thanos due to the alien source could be true and would make sense, but with or without this his motives make total sense for his POV. |

Any problems I have with Ultron in the MCU has more to do with the changing of his backstory from being a Hank Pym invention to being one of Starks. Ultron's weird oedipus complex he had for Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne was always one of his more interesting traits in the comics. |
