My only worry from a business perspective is that the "casual" audience will be confused about when the movie is coming out as millions of people have seen the trailer and May 4th was the release date prominently shown at the end of the trailer.

You have months and months of promoting a movie as a May 4th release and then one day you suddenly change it. There's bound to be some confusion from some people now. How much will that effect the opening weekend numbers? Who knows...

I doubt it will effect anything honestly. There is going to be so many commercials and advertising that you won't be able to miss it. Promotion for this movie is going to be massive on cable, just wait.

This is nothing new. Movies, even blockbusters, change dates all the time. It will have ZERO negative effect.

yeah, after the announcement, Ryan Penagos, Marvel's VP & Creative Executive of New Media, tweeted this:

I have to assume it's info on a new trailer premiering on some Disney-related network (ABC, ESPN, etc) and tickets going on sale coinciding with it.

the only big announcement I wanna hear is Fantastic 4 is back with Marvel and they have had the rights back for a while. But I can dream.

ugh. I have never understood why people are so big on the Fantastic 4. I hope they aren't introduced in the MCU, at least not for a long while.
