yes, DC is stuffing faster than Marvel did. DC is not copying the exact same pattern as Marvel. How horrible. You should boycott.

We don't necessarily need solo movies to set it up. That said, we are getting a solo Wonder Woman prequel movie a few months prior to Justice League but consider how much Guardians of the Galaxy was able to accomplish without any solo Groot, Drax, Peter Quill, Rocket or Gamora movies, its one of the best MCU movies and it does it all on its own.

Cap 3 is doing this now with debuting Black Panther and Spider-man. Hawkeye, Nick Fury and Black Window weren't introduced in their own solo movies prior to Avengers, they debuted in other MCU films. Hawkeye was only in Thor before Avengers, Black Widow only in Iron Man 2, so this notion isn't an entirely new one. We are still get 3 movies (Man of Steel, Dawn of Justice and Wonder Woman) in the new DCEU before Justice League (not counting Suicide Squad, which makes it 4). Dawn of Justice will do for Aquaman and Flash what Thor did for Hawkeye prior to Avengers, they'll develop Batman more here and this and the solo Wonder Woman movie next year will further develop Diana (Wonder Woman).

Reportedly, the combined budget for both Avengers: Infinity War movies is $1 billion dollars, of which $400 million goes to the screenwriter, director, producers and principal actors. Of the portion of that $400 million which goes to the actors, Robert Downey, Jr. will allegedly receive half of it, or something under $200 million.

No way that is true, that would mean that, individually, each film would be the most expensive film ever made by over $100M. And almost DOUBLE what Ultron cost.

Downey's salaries are also usually based on points rather than full upfront. He has made absurd pay days prior, but $100M each is just nuts. He is not worth the money anymore; he may still be the most individually popular, but the Marvel brand sells the movies now without leaning on any one actor. Frankly, him receiving $50M and $75M for Avengers/IM3 was absurd. But I do give him major credit for stipulating raises for the other cast as part of his more recent negotiations.

I'm actually going into Civil War expecting him to be the one to go IF any major players die.

Next month kicks off Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and while we are looking forward to seeing what Captain America: Civil War holds, it is hard not to look to the future and end of Phase 3. Marvel has already announced the Phase 3 slate and even though they have changed things around to include the likes of Ant-Man and the Wasp and Spider-Man, they have a plan set in place.

Marvel has the utmost belief in the Russo Brothers and have given them the reigns for Phase 3, and while promoting their latest film for the company, they have confirmed appearance by two more characters in Avengers: Infinity War. They told Comicbook.com that both Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will be joining in the fight against Thanos. This obviously exciting as we finally have confirmation that the Guardians and Avengers will crossover in some capacity. I’m sure the other Guardians will join in alongside Star-Lord, but Anthony Russo stated just how excited they are to bring him to the film and truly combine the MCU.

Quote:
The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that’s happened before in the MCU so you don’t want to get into spoilers but I’m a big fan of what James Gunn has done. [Joe Russo and I] are both big fans of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you’d be very excited.
The other less shocking but still good to know news is that Thor is sticking around too. Anthony Russo teased what his inclusion will mean for the movie and the character, and in doing so seems to hint at some very cool stuff coming in his next movie.

Quote:
I’m excited to work with Thor. They’re doing some really interesting stuff with Ragnarok and where he’s gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he’s gonna have a real emotional motivation after that.
I am of the mindset that Thanos will have some part in the possible destruction of Asgard as he tries to collect up the Infinity Stones or take back the other Infinity Gauntlet. This would definitely give Thor great motivation to defeat the Mad Titan, but it could also be something where Loki is helping Thanos out again and Thor will no longer stand for his brothers bad behavior.

No matter how they are included, it is great to know that they are both going to be in Avengers: Infinity War. The possibilities at play are great and as we near closer to each of their respective movies next year, we should gain a better understanding of where they will be when Infinity War kicks off. Let us know what you think of Star-Lord and Thor being in Infinity War in the comments below!

Star-Lord can next be seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which is scheduled to hit theaters May 5, 2017. Thor can next be seen in Thor: Ragnarok which is scheduled to hit theaters November 3, 2017. They will both share the screen in Avengers: Infinity War which is scheduled to hit theaters May 4, 2018 for Part 1 and May 3, 2019 for Part 2.

I recall Pratt being confirmed as the only Guardian to come back for Avengers 3 way back when GotG had just been released...
I also thought Thor was a given to appear in one of the Infinity War movies.

No surprise there. Chris Pratt is extremely popular at the moment so they are bound to want him in the film.

Doubtful. Awhile back Feige made some comment about how Drax is going to play a big part. Things change of course but it would be such a lame and missed opportunity to not have all of the Guardians appear.

Thanos is a threat to the entire galaxy so it makes sense for all of the Guardians to be there, even more so than certain members of the Avengers.

Also, that speculation about Loki helping out Thanos more. I have a feeling he's going to take Mephisto's place from the comics.

Drax's sole purpose is to kill Thanos, so he should be in it. I hope he will be made stronger in GotG Vol. 2.

Exactly.

Yeah, I was quite annoyed that Ronan was beating the crap out of him with ease. Drax should have been doing a bit of damage to Ronan but he was getting owned the entire time.

That scene was such a bummer. Instead of showcasing Drax's strength and indomitable will, we get a scene that essentially makes him look like a wimp.

Hopefully all the Guardians show up in Infinity War. Just imagining the character interactions between the Avengers and the Guardians has me giggling like a little girl.

The potential [emoji23]

Hawkeye runs out of arrows and Groot spurts some out on the spot.

Ant-Man riding Rocket.

Hulk and Groot have a whole exchange in grunts.
