Disney isn't the best at that for home video.

Also, The Avengers blu-ray and Ant-Man blu-ray have a large aspect ratio with very small black bars on the top and bottom.
IMAX ratio still gets released on 3D blu-ray so it likely will see home release.
thankfully.

All prior MCU’s with IMAX scenes, were ckept for the 3D copy (luckily my TV has a 3D on/off switch so it’s easy to watch the 3D disc in 2D and full screen whoever no possible)

Though the MCU movies have typically included 1.9 versions on 3D discs. But it is highly doubtful there will be a 3D blu of this unfortunately, at least in America (if they are gonna stop that and are releasing the film in both 2D and 3D IMAX, would be nice if they had the expanded ratio standard).

Beat ya too it

American may have to import but Europe and Asia still get 3D/2D combo sets as standards (its getting 4K added instead of replacement o fun 3D that seems the challenge)

Phoenix is a primal universal force.

When push comes to shove, I don't know that one would be more powerful than the other. I would be inclined to think that the collected Infinity Stones and Phoenix would cancel each other out.

I am, of course, referring to The Phoenix as it was revealed to be after Jean Grey returned in Fantastic Four #286.

I was actually referring to 2D Blu-rays, not 3D Blu-rays .

I think i'm comfortable in saying that the Infinity Gauntlet would beat the Phoenix force in whatever format you're taking the properties in. While powerful... I never really saw the Phoenix Force have the variety of manipulations that the Gauntlet had.

I dunno. Reports are saying that Downey Jr., well... from 2-3 years, would get $200 million for the two Infinity films. And that the budget for some production people and actors was $400 million, again the two films. Sooooo.... $200 million for them. I wouldn't be surprised if the budget was pretty damn high. If not one of the most expensive.

It doesnt bother anyon else that Thanos looks like a cartoon character? So many complaints about Steppenwolf’a CGI but I dont see any difference. Wish they just made up Brolin in costume as they did with Vision.

After what happened with Apocalypse I can't really complain.

They don't have to do anything of the sorts if they don't want to. Time travel isn't really needed in the MCU. This isn't like the comics where things will be retconned by time travel.

Well... Thanos is a really big guy as a general thing. Steppenwolf's design was needless considering how he has been presented in the comics.

Steppenwolf didn't need CGI to work. Still weirds me out that Steppenwolf apparently needed to be a CGI thing. Thanos at around 6'7 and his mass alone? Probably good to make him like he is. He looks good to me.

Vision works as he was cuz of his size. Thanos is huge.

You don't want to see Kang as the villain in future Avengers movies? Some fan you are.

But for some reason, 2D is always cropped (Titanic is a prime example and personally I find it distracting and prefer to watch the full screen movie, spilt on 2 discs, in 2D rather than lose tops of heads - the image is there so why crop it?)

Most movies are filmed in current day 16:9 ish full widescreen rather than the more ‘cinematic’ squished wider screen (Iron Man extras prove the image is there, but with a line guide for the wider ratio....so what’s will be lost/kept is clearly shown) so basically diene to director preference, we often lose part of the image,
Animation is different as they often won’t animate more image than is needed.

What I don’t get is why the home release doesn’t give us the option to view the version we prefer as it’s not like the image isn’t of often there’s. ITs blocked out by horrid black bars.

2D should retain at least the theatricals formst ratio

That's because The Avengers and Ant-Man original aspect ratios are 1.85 whereas majority of the other MCU films are shot in scope (2.40). When Disney still released 3D in the United States, movie's such as Guardians 1 and 2, Civil War, and Doctor Strange had alternating aspect ratios included on the 3D disc. However, as Disney doesn't release 3D discs in US, to get the IMAX version on disc, one may have to import Infinity War when released on blu-ray.

Last I heard, Chris Evans claimed BOTH Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 cost a total of a billion dollars to make.

Anyone who thinks Snyder would use forced perspective over CGI hasn't seen the rest of his films.
