People really need to read the bottom of Metacritic, they scrape all of their movie data from IMDb.

Yes or No?

I dont need any theories or macguffin talk.
Why should he? Thanos is already strong enough to defeat The Avengers even without the infinity stones. Also the infinity gauntlet is a macguffin. That's just a plain fact. I know you guys like to talk about them like they are a part of Thanos' abilities, but they are not.

The question I have now is, if people truly believe that Thanos will gather all of the infinity stones, then why is there a lot of doubt that Thanos will kill most of The Avengers? Like have some people here even read the comics or what? There is some serious contradictions here.

But to simply answer your question, no. I don't think Thanos will gather all of the infinity stones. At least not in this movie anyway.

Will he NEVER gather the stones for the Gauntlet?

Justice League was a trainwreck because Whedon's vision was drastically different from Snyder's, but WB insisted on meshing the two. To this day, Joss Whedon is still best known for his own creations...and he seems okay with that.
This is wrong. Whedon was given directions on The Avengers that the characters had to come together and the final battle take place in New York. Joss isn't strong on structure, mainly dialogue and he wasn't 100% in control. But he was on Age of Ultron which is why that movie failed because he insisted on writing it himself.

Making movies like this, you need at least two good writers who are strong on structure (who, how, what, where, when and why) and once the groundwork is laid out you bring in someone who can add some spark to the dialogue.

I havent read the comics or know exactly how powerful Thanos is/could be, but I highly doubt he'll get all 6 Infinity Stones and get taken down by the Avengers (even if he kills a couple). I think he'll get a few Infinity Stones and the Avengers will use the remaining to defeat him, otherwise it's just not believable that he'd acquire all 6 and still get defeated

The writers can create any amount of options to defeat Thanos or have him defeat himself.

They have yet to show anyone wielding all the gems.
They showed that it some folks cant control even one.

Its not a boxing match.

Of course he's going to collect all 6. Like I said before, villains in movies always have a moment of triumph before they eventually get defeated.

They will come up with a clever way to defeat Thanos after he has them all.

And plus, they wouldn't be selling replica Infinity Gauntlets with all the stones, if it wasn't going to happen.

Thanos's goal isn't to defeat the Avengers. He probably couldn't care less about them. Even if its true that he can easily defeat them without the stones, his whole goal is to collect the infinity stones to bend the universe to his will.

Which is why he WILL get them all. And they will come up with a clever way to have the hero's come out victorious afterwards. Its movie storytelling 101.

Thats your take.

What have we seen in the films?

We havent seen him in action without a gem, gems, or the whole glove.

That's why I have always been skeptical about Thanos. His motives and actions don't translate well into film. In the comics, he wipes out the half of the universe just to impress Death and gets defeated all because he let himself open for anyone to take the infinity gauntlet. After that, everything went back to normal and everyone was brought back to life. Thanos then commits "suicide" and becomes a farmer in the end. That's ridiculous. So why the hell should the movie follow the comics?

Every villain has a goal to achieve ultimate power. Doesn't mean they do at the end.

Literally every movie has that point where it seems like the villain has won. Then the good guy(s) come up with some miracle to defeat him.

Just because Thanos acquires all the infinity stones doesn't mean he will actually accomplish his goal (which is to wipe out half the universe).

They could stop him just before he does. How they will do that I have no idea, we will just have to wait and see what they came up with.

They never figured out how to defeat Thanos in the comics. Thanos was just stupid enough to leave his body out in the open in order to become the universe itself. Leaving just anyone to take the infinity stones for themselves. Not to mention, Marvel gets criticize for not keeping their characters dead. So resurrecting all of them back to life could very well be a huge cop out.
