But, in reality it has to do with contracts and actor fatigue. Killing Cap in Civil War would have been shocking. Killing Cap in Avengers 4 is just business.

Killing Hawkeye would royally suck. He's been one of my favorite things of the main earthbound MCU run of films from Age of Ultron onward.

It helps Jeremy Renner fought tooth and nail with the higher ups to do more in his role than just be "quiet guy with bow who then gets brainwashed by Loki".

Thanos tries to kill Tony but Peter swings in catching the blow which is the reason Peter is apologizing to Tony.

Cap:
Black Panther gives him the Soul Stone and is killed by the giant purple goonie in Wakanda.

Hawkeye:
He'll pay the life-debt to Wanda by sacrificing himself to protect her...nobody is gonna tell me there isn't a Father/Daughter thing going on there.

War Machine:
If those alien things can overrun and rip apart the Hulkbuster then Rhodes is a goner.

Vision:
Not dead but only his head remains.

Hulk:
Not dead but imprisoned by Thanos thinking he can brainwash him.

Guardians Team:

Star Lord:
Dies in the fight with Thanos on Planet X (I dunno the name, sue me!)

Gamora:
Killed by Doctor Strange trying to save him.

Nebula:
She dies striking the killing blow to Thanos in Avengers 4.

Everyone Dying by Thanos Snapping his fingers as the movie ends:
