Could this film break Star Wars: The Force Awakens domestic gross and top Avatar's worldwide gross earning over 2 billion dollars??
If any movie has the chance, it’s this one. If not, I have no idea what the next huge movie could be.

Maybe but outgrossing The Avengers as the highest grossing CBM seems very likely.

And, if I remember correctly, the "backlash" against Hathaway wasn't so much because people associated Catwoman with Pfeiffer, it was because people thought Hathaway would make a terrible catwoman.
I'd say it more depends on what comes after the original characters. Up until Nolan Keaton was the most regarded Batman of the franchise. Bale took some of that weight off him, and if the next solo movie is great that will too.

Same way I don't think anyones dying to see Toby as spiderman since we've had such a long run of decent spiderman replacements.

Will they always be tied to the characters... Yes, but I think the variable that separates them is how good/ popular the replacements (if there are any) are.

Any ideas when we will start to hear reviews on the movie? I think as we get closer to release I am going to totally ignore everything about the movie. I want to go in 110% surprised with no one else's opinion or thoughts in my mind as I watch the film.

Marvel hasn't done much of the latter in general, aside from early exceptions like Don Cheadle, Mark Ruffalo, and John Slattery.

If Chris decides not to continue as Steve, and the character remains alive, fans won't accept anyone else filling his shoes. Bucky or Sam could still assume the Captain America mantle, but the moment the new Steve shows up...you'll hear howls of protest worse than a werewolf convention. There's certain instances, where the actor and character become synonymous in the audience's mind. Christopher Reeve was one such example...and within the MCU, I think Robert Downey and Chris Evans have both reached that level.
Slattery was an older Howard Stark when we met him in IM2, release date: May 7, 2010. Then in Cap 1, Dominic Cooper got to play a younger Stark... release date: july 22, 2011. Both have been used for their respective periods needed since that time.

It's not a recast. It's just regular casting.

You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Cap dying makes the most sense out of Thor/Iron Man/Captain America imo.

Based on Ragnarok, Thor still has potential for another movie if Hemsworth wanted to come back in a few years time. Tony can make cameos in a few years if they really wanted to him to, he'd be useful when it comes to information and knowledge. Whereas Steve just feels like his story is 100% told and a closed book at this point. Steve has 2 potential characters to pass the Captain America name to.

I'm not expecting Tony to die, I think Pepper will be the one to die and make him hang up his suits and retire from all of this. Pepper dying after the engagement in Homecoming would really hit him even harder.

You can't afford me. On the other hand I will waive my usual retainer fee in exchange for a small favour.

You can't compare any normal job to a super hero's job, even in the fictional world. That is just ridiculous.
Let's hope Kathleen Kennedy NEVER gets her claws into the MCU.

Even if they die anyones whose spent 10 minutes on google getting familiar with marvel knows how many times anyone can be resurrected, etc. etc.

It would be nuts to see them all die or even 1 or two of the big three. But at least for me it'll always sit in the back of my mind that if the franchise was in dire need of one or all coming back they'd back enough cash up to each one of their homes and they'd reappear lol.
