If Civil War proves anything, the Netflix shows can easily slot into the films without the need of previous context.

I'm intrigued as to how, given that whilst I haven't seen the movie I know neither DareDevil or Jessica Jones appear.

You're being absolutely ridiculousness and narrow minded once again.

It doesn't matter at all that the Netflix shows lean towards an R rating. The characters can appear in the movies perfectly fine. That doesn't mean they have to make the movies a hard PG-13/R rating.

It's weird that people can't understand that. No, they would not feel out of place appearing in a few of these films. People who think that lack imagination and are too fixated on the R rating of the Netflix shows.

What I mean is Black Panther and Spider-Man both have one scene prior setting up their alteregos and then they're in costume for the rest of it. Meaning kids won't need to "see" the Netflix shows, to understand the characters. Like I've said all along, the content in the shows are what gives it the rating, not the characters themselves.

i would argue Black Panther and Spider-Man are more familiar to the 12A audience though. Black Panther's getting a solo film for a start and as for Spider-Man: who hasn't heard of him or his origin?

I don't think Disney would really want to include characters currently in 15-rated material as they are a family-friendly company and wouldn't want to be seen encouraging younger viewers of the films to watch the Netflix series.

Exactly! It's amazing how some don't get this.

likely focusing on the metric dedicated to the amount screenings in a single day, perhaps?.

Sure, I get that they want as many screenings in a day as possible. But ultimately if you weaken the film by hacking it in the editing room, then you're gonna wind up with something that gets poor word of mouth and is completely front-loaded.

So much time will be spent servicing characters for Infinity War that there probably won’t be much room for Easter eggs of other characters.
I think the idea that there won't be much room for other characters is terrible. They should at least feature Agent Coulson in a cameo in my opinion.

Marvel doesn't owe us anything. Would it be cool? Sure. But it's not necessary. I want the film to dictate the characters, not have the characters dictate the film. That's backwards. I'd love to see the street level heroes and Coulson show up, but none of it is necessary to the film to succeed. As it is, these films are gonna have to repair a lot in light of Civil War's ending. That's more than enough to have to cover without worrying about the TV side too, again, as much as I'd like to see the characters. I fully trust the directors and writers on this.

Whilst it's true they don't owe us anything, this should be the conclusion to the entire three phases of the original MCU with a whole new story starting from phase 4. It wouldn't feel right if they don't at least bring back Agent Coulson and have the Avengers find out he is still alive.

The MCU films are just fine without all of this tie-in crap. The shows just bring all of this in to pretend they're bigger than they really are.

I quite like the tie-in, but when it's done in such a way that it's more like a nod to the MCU, for example, the way Agent Carter "revealed" Black Widow's origin, or the mentions that are made in Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Perhaps the films should treat a tie-in the same way....

But there's a great story to tell there with the Avengers finding out Coulson is alive? Why ignore it when you could make Agent Coulson the hero of the hour, stepping from the shadows to reveal he is still alive.

There's great dramatic potential there. This should have happened already.

Nobody cares about Coulson.

Plus I hardly think he's going to be 'hero of the hour' in a movie starring like 40 super heroes.

Why? Who doesn't love a good underdog? I think it would be great if he made a cameo maybe in part 2 in fact where it looks like Thanos has beaten the Avengers and all is lost then suddenly something comes from behind and kills him. A figure emerges from the shadows - it's Coulson and he says something along the lines of 'Sorry I've been gone so long. Did you miss me?'

I would laugh and not in a good way if Coulson is the one to stop Thanos. He isn't enough of a draw in for the TV show with the ratings it gets so I doubt they're rushing for him to be in a movie again.
