AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Star Elizabeth Olsen Talks About The Possibility Of A SCARLET WITCH Solo Movie

Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still going strong with a bevy of movies still set to come out between now and next year, including Avengers: Infinity War which will premiere this month. However, while the slate of Phase 3 films has been known for a while now, the list of films to come in Marvel's Phase 4 is still largely unknown.

It’s currently known or assumed Marvel’s fourth phase will consist of a number of sequels, such as a Black Panther 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy 3, as well as few new solo films.There have been a lot of rumors around what films may make the list, including a Black Widow movie, but the facts about Phase 4 are still largely unknown.

Thankfully, some recent comments from Elizabeth Olsen shed some light on whether we can expect a Scarlet Witch film to be among the mysterious slate of films.

“We are at ground zero,” the Scarlet Witch actress told People, revealing there are little to no plans for a Scarlet Witch film. “It’s definitely not something I’m pushing. I don’t know if it’s something they’re going to push either.”

That said, the Avengers: Infinity War actress also revealed that she occasionally jokes with her co-star Paul Bettany about the idea of a Netflix series revolving around the Scarlet Witch and Vision:

“I joke about having a domestic television show on Netflix or something. It would just be like house event, where Scarlet Witch goes bananas. That’s what we joke about but I don’t think either of those things are happening.”

It seems fans of the Avenger, Wanda Maximoff, shouldn't get their hopes up for a solo film revolving around the hero. Then again, until the full slate of films is announced, we can never rule a Scarlet Witch film out.

They really should make those things available for purchase.

Let the folks who want them buy new, pristine ones that they can assemble themselves.

I'm sure that the superhero and Star Wars ones would sell enough to make it worthwhile.

Would have preferred if Iron Man, War Machine, Spidey, Panther, Star Mask all kept their masks/helmets on... but other than that, looks amazing.

My coworker was questioning this also when we were putting it together. But I definitely think it's an actor thing. Like would you rather your face be in the marketing materials or would you rather they just put a mask over your money-maker?

Think there is also a superhero film story about that? Some actor who didn't want to play a hero part back in the day because his face wouldn't have more screentime than him in a mask.

A post credit scene doesn't have to hint at the next film. As we've seen many times throughout the MCU, the post credit scene could be about something that takes place in a movie somewhere down the line. So its possible.

Depends on the complexity of the scene. The shawarma scene from Avengers 1 was shot only weeks before the film's release, and actually after its world premiere. If the scene is as simple as, say, Fury talking to the new Professor X in the mansion, then it wouldn't take very long to put together.

I doubt that there will be anything X-related in the film, though, but that's more down to storytelling logic than anything else. Why tease the next story arc when the current one isn't even done yet? We're more likely to see something in 4, just because that's the end of the Thanos storyline and they need to set up a new one to keep people coming to these movies.

Yes, I was aware the schwarma scene was very, very last minute, but what I meant is that they would still have to have an arrangement worked out legally -- which we have no evidence has happened. Last time Fiege mentioned the subject a couple weeks ago he said he won't even think about the new properties until the deal is finalized. So unless he was lying and a deal has been cut it's not happening in this movie.

A Scarlet Witch solo movie won't happen sadly. She's my favorite female character and she deserves it. I guess she could co-star on the next Dr. Strange movie, but who knows.

I remember hearing things like about the Stallone Judge Dredd film & that was the reason he didn't wear the helmet all the time.

Everything about Marvel posters is designed around the contracts of its stars. The appeasing of egos comes into play, leading to equal coverage for certain members of the cast relating to billing and (apparently) pay. Any actor would prefer/demand that their face not be obscured by a mask, etc, and you only have to trace posters with RDJ to see how his visage became more prominent (as opposed to the helmet of the IM suit) as the movies went on.

The ultimate s**-show of Marvel posters was definitely Age of Ultron, where the whole thing was so busy and overstuffed with characters that it was almost fatiguing to look at. Well, the purpose of a poster is to provide a distillation of the movie...
