When they say "it was cut for time" -- they could mean it was cut before shooting started because they could see the movie would be long.
Also, any scene with Thanos is a ton of CGI -- so they could easily have realized the movie was long and to have large parts of Thanos backstory would cost a ton of money for CGI.

Personally, I'd want a proper Thanos backstory on the big screen, not "you'll get the gist" type of stuff. After all those movies leading up to these TWO movies where Thanos is the main villain, i'd wanna know who he was, how he got to where he is (in flashbacks), that Gamora n Thanos scene seems to be heading in the right direction.

I fully trust the Russo brothers tbh, but one thing I dont want to see is a lot of one-liners in this movie, I get it with all the previous movies (even though it does feel out of place a lot of the time).

This is one movie where I want the comedic level turned down...like a lot.

I'm glad I don't lead the kind of life where if a movie doesn't live up to my expectations it affects me in a negative way.

I don't care if Thanos is not like the comics. If anything, Thanos' actions and motives from the comics wouldn't translate well into film at all, which is why I've always been skeptical about him in the MCU. I just find it ironic that the people who tell me that these ain't the comics, are ones hyping Thanos simply because of what he did in the comics.
