Still possible if Fox/Marvel come to an arrangement.

That would depend on how strongly Jackman would hold on his desire to leave for his established reasons... saying that... His convictions for it are much weaker than say... Christian Bale's in leaving and not coming back for a role. Jackman obsessively loves his role, quality be damned.

Hugh Jackman may agree to it as a one-off in the MCU if an agreement were to be made over the X-Men.

So my guess is, the Infinity War story will spread over two parts. And I think they want to keep the title under wraps until Infinity War is over. The new title could be a "New Avengers" title to conclude the Infinity War story, referring to a new team of Avengers to transition into Phase 4.
The Avengers: New Avengers? Sounds off.

But I agree with the general idea you're saying. I just hope it's less of a transitional movie and more of a finite conclusion, or at least as much as that's possible for these shared universes. They've spent over a decade building to the Infinity War by the time we get to Part 2, I don't want it to feel like just another setup for what's next when we get there.

Even if they ever did, Jackman's done being Wolverine in March, and I'm sure Fox will start the recast carousel as soon as they can.

Highly doubt Hugh Jackman would come back even if Disney and Fox made a deal. They will probably get a midget to play Wolverine, considering that this new Spider-Man is the youngest version of the character we have ever gotten in terms of live-action.

Will they even want to recast Wolverine? Hugh Jackman was so popular in the role that people may not accept someone else.

People always say that, but the franchise has to continue and people will come around. Bond and Batman are prime examples.

I've had Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for about 15 years now, assuming Wolverine 3 is Old Man Logan, I will be ready to accept a new actor in the role.

Unless they give us a more comic book accurate Wolverine. But yeah, Hugh Jackman is awesome in the role.

The problem with Wolverine is that Hugh Jackman has been stereotyped as Wolverine, whereas I don't think there has been a stereotyped Batman. There's been a stereotyped Joker (Heath Ledger) but not Batman.

And yet we're still getting a new Joker next week. Also I don't think Jackman has been stereotyped, he's done a reasonably good job of taking varied roles outside of Wolverine (and getting an Oscar nod for one of them). Point is -- no character is too precious to be recast. People said Connery could never be replaced as Bond, or that Maguire could never be replaced as Spidey, or that Bale (or Keaton) could never be replaced as Batman, or that Nicholson could never be replaced as the Joker, etc. And yet it's always happened and people come to appreciate the new guy, sometimes even more than the supposedly irreplaceable original.

Keaton was the perfect man to bring Batman to the big screen and he was the best Batman, till this year. Bale was never that irreplaceable for me, he just never quite FIT the role. Jackman is perfect, size aside but Wolverine is ageless so it makes sense to recast after Wolverine 3.

Thing is, SO many people became Batman fans because of the Nolan trilogy, so for them Bale is THE guy. And honestly he's my favorite Batman too, but I agree that he's not head-and-shoulders above anyone else who's played the role (aside from Clooney, obviously ). Keaton would be my #2 and Affleck #3, although the way he's going he could very well end up on top.

But all this Wolverine talk is a moot point, anyway. Fox and Marvel don't get along, and Fox is fine handling X-Men on its own, so there's no incentive for them to share. F4, on the other hand...

I liked him at first but the constant crying and mask-off crap got to me, although I blame that more on the writers.

Agree with those who say Wolverine will probably never cross into the MCU, just the way it is.

Of the three (more like two and a half) we've gotten so far, yeah he's still the best. Not even close. The new kid looks awesome so far, though.

Meh. Tobey doesn't capture the wit and humor of Spider-Man very well. Also he's way too obsessed with MJ and didn't even bothered saving that guy from getting beat up in the alley in Spider-Man 2. That's out of character. Also I prefer web-shooters.

He's supposed to be obsessed with MJ though, so I cut him some slack for that one.

Really wonder which GoTG members will be in this, probably mostly the team from GoTG Vol 1.

Sony and Marvel/Disney were competing studios at one point, yet they worked out a deal for Spider-Man.
