There were at least 2-3 more scenes that were in trailer only.

true but only that group shot has been explicitally confirmed to have been made ONLY for the trailer.

The rest could be in A4 or were simply cut.

Marvel's TV Shows Won't Deal With The Aftermath Of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Quote:
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's timeline is pretty easy to follow...until you throw the TV shows into the mix! Despite the fact we're now in 2018, it still appears as if those on Netflix are set shortly after the events of The Avengers and even though Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. referenced Thanos's attack on Earth, it seems unlikely the show will deal with the fallout when it's not set to return until next summer.

That late premiere date means it can essentially gloss over the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, something it appears all Marvel TV shows will be doing given Kevin Feige's apparent lack of interest (he has no involvement in any of them despite being in charge of how the MCU plays out).

"For the most part our stories will take place BEFORE Thanos clicked his fingers," Jeph Loeb explained in a recent Q&A. "A lot of that has to do with production and when we are telling our stories vs. when the movies come out. So hang in there. I remember in the comics, one of my favorite stories was the KREE-SKRULL war... which was universal, but in X-Men, no mention. Huh. And it all worked out in the end." Fair enough but that mention of "for the most part" is definitely interesting.

If I had to hazard a guess, he's referring to the next season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but anything more than a throwaway mention is probably unlikely as the days of that series fleshing out the movie seemingly ended quite some time ago. What do you think? As always, share your thoughts below.

Are you guys still gullible to believe that the TV shows take place in the MCU?

It's very unlikely he's referring to SHIELD. Cloak & Dagger, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Runaways, etc

Well, if the snap gets reversed in Avengers 4 next year, then it seems pointless to deal with it on the netflix shows. Are any new seasons even dropping in the meantime?

I believe we have Luke Cage and Daredevil 3 between now and Avengers 4 BUT they will have been written and mostly filmed by now so would be near impossible to incorporate a post-Infinity War timeline.

You kidding me? With the half-arsed way they've been producing these shows and "tying them in"? All they needed to know was how IW ends (which would have been known by the time they started filming s2 of Cage) and they will just throw in a few lazy references to "the culling" and just go on with the show. That's basically how the Marvel TV universe rolls!

Maybe throw in a "bearded guy with a shield" or "talking tree" reference to make sure we all get the point.

far from kidding.

It was the most guarded plot in ages, with even the cast not knowing the full whack.
So I doubt the ending would have been shared with the TV universe.

You are aware that it's the same scenario from the comics, right? It was about as well guarded as the fate of Sauron's ring in Return of the King! The only thing that was really unknown was whether the film would end with that and lead into a sequel or play it out to the very end.

Like I say: Half arsed TV universe, so they could have filmed for both eventualities because the references and "tie-ins" will be so slight and insignificant either way. I'm not saying that's what happened BTW, just saying it wouldn't have been difficult for them to do. I'm expecting Cage s2 to ignore it altogether.

Yes like I said before, Cloak & Dagger, Luke Cage 2, Iron Fist 2, Daredevil 3, and Runaways 2. I expect all of those to take place before Infinity War. SHIELD 6 and everything after that I expect to take place after.

And there's no way they completely undo the snap. It will definitely have lasting consequences, in some form, even if not how you would expect it to.

how many times has the MCU deviated from the comics though?

TV side has always been one way (as much as it bugs me personally)

Same here. The local IMAX pulled Solo & put IW back on the big screen for a few days till Incredibles 2 opens Wednesday night. Planning a triple feature later today: Upgrade, Infinity War IMAX, and the one-night only showing of Doctor Who: Genesis of the Daleks.
