I don't know about anybody else, but I feel like extra backstory on Thanos just isn't really needed at all. Nice to get as a bonus, but I feel like cutting it was probably a smart choice. His character was pretty thoroughly explained in the movie.

Yeah it just works the way it was. But I wouldn't mind some deleted scenes

Hope they included them as an extra but i'm not aware of any MCU "extended cuts" of the major movies at all. They release as they did theatrically. Think it might have thrown the balance out having more Thanos backstory and the Russo's settled on the right amlunt to make him well rounded.

I'd love a 20min one shot of thanos background

but if not, am hoping the book released later this year will flesh out the MCU version of Thanos background enough for me

I got a book from Amazon which contains behind the scenes pictures and information about the movie, as well as written interviews with many of the film's actors.

If you're interested in the input of the actors in regard to the characters that they portray, then yes, it's pretty good. Otherwise, it's just a summation of events from the previous films that setup Infinity War (i.e. events pertaining to the Infinity Stones).
