See, that's the problem. If we keep on giving Marvel Studios an easy pass every time, then they'll just continue their sub-par effects. We got to let them know they need to do better, or they won't bother to improve.

Don't wanna kill Willems enthusiasm, but some of his points are off in terms of color correction, grading and image finishing. Assuming to much about camera brands and camera qualities.

I don't think it's too bad because most people in the industry do this, use the wrong vocabulary to explain something else that's where collaboration is important.

Actually it fits my previous example of the CGI topic perfectly...comparing 2 Disney owned movies that completely messed up thier CGI worse the the WB's Superman Mustache removal. The Stache removal was at least completely rendered and finished...although just plain bad CGI, However Disney couldn't even FINISH their Multi-Billion Dollar (probably Trillion Dollar franchises at this point) GGI effects. They may have had the same budget but You would have thought a franchise with 20 Movies under it's belt could finish the product to a professional level.
And TLJ is commonly referred to The Last Joke....used throughout many other forums by many people....just sayin. (but we all know you have to get your post count up since you only been a member like what 1 year and already more than most that have been on here for 5 years...how many of those posts are just random DC bashing...enough said....we get it you hate DC....good for you...would you like a cookie?....I hear Girl-scout cookies are good....)

I would say she was good in BvS. Passable in WW. Terrible in JL.

I think if we want to get nitpicky then yeah you can pick out stuff from Marvel or even Star Wars, but most of their movies still get nominated for Visual Effects. Actually TFA, RO and TLJ and recently DS, GOTG2. I wouldn't be surprised if IW gets nominated next year.

I only nitpick about the visuals because I know they could do better. Also you can't compare the visuals in MCU movies (especially Phase Three) to Star Wars. Star Wars still shoots on 35mm film and uses a lot of practical effects.

Ragging on gaddot for acting now? Okay... She's been fine in most things compared to many others. Jen law, Kristen Stewart, and that harry potter chick all three who can't act. For hero films, other than johanssen non have come off that great. Lilly was okay in ant man but the rest have been meh to horrible imo.

Tell that to Weta Digital. They were responsible for the fight with Thanos on Titan. All the other companies named here I've never heard of. Weta is the only one I'm familiar with.

The motion capture CGI is great. My problems are the cinematography, color filters, and green screen. I don't blame the VFX companies at all, because they have done some great work in the past. If anything, you bringing up WETA kinda proves my point. My theory is that Marvel Studios rush these movies out in order to come on schedule, resulting to uneven visuals and using filters to hide the inconsistencies. But again, that's just my theory. For all I know, Kevin Feige could be color blind.
