that's exactly what their Netflix properties are for. I wouldn't be surprised if they release a made-for-netflix R-rated movie at some point in the future.

I could easily see that being their first feature-length Netflix project, it would be an excellent choice.

Because it's an R-rated character? I want to see one from Marvel that's being in the same vain as Deadpool or Logan. Not just another Netflix project.

not just that, but the over all tone of Blade, which is more like the tone they've set in their Netflix properties.

Also, Marvel studios isn't going to release a movie in theaters that not everybody who's seen the other MCU movies couldn't go see. The whole point of the MCU is that you can, and should, go see every one of them. If you drop something canonical in theaters that is blocked off from a significant portion of the fan base, it's not gonna work.

But the point of the Netflix series is that they can explore darker characters and darker plots, that in some part require or at least benefit from having seen the theater films, but don't work back the other direction. You don't gain or lose anything in the theater films by not having seen the Netflix properties or SHIELD. The MCU canon is a 1 way street.

Which is one of my problems with the MCU. It's all one big TV show, but in theaters. Sometimes less is more with stand-alone stories. Also no one ever Marvel Studios would never release R-rated movies. Disney has said they they would consider making movies about Davedevil and the rest of The Defenders. If not Marvel Studios, then through Netflix. Netflix releases movies in theaters all the time. So I don't know why everyone here acts like they know what's going with these companies.

of course we don't "know" what they're going to do, but one thing you can say about Marvel, for good or bad, is that they seem to have a pretty rigid model in place. Releasing a true rated-R MCU film in theaters, in the vein of Logan or Deadpool, simply wouldn't fit that model.

Well, Kevin Feige did say that things are going to be different after Avengers 4. So there is a possibility that they might not even fellow the same model once Phase Four begins. There is no reason to even continue the same model anyway. The original Avengers will probably leave the franchise and Marvel don't have the film rights to Deadpool, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. So what big event could possibly top Infinity War? But hey, what do I know? All I know is, I'm not of fan of all of these superhero movies setting things up for some big event. Even WB/DC and Sony are guilty of this as well. The only one not copying this formula is Fox. Thank God, too.

I mostly agree w/ you on this. There's nothing wrong w/ the idea of building it up to this moment. The problem to it is that it's so on the nose that it just feels like more and more product, of whatever varying quality to it that it has. Just to lead up to it. Doesn't feel fluid enough.

Just BSing here but it would be interesting if the FF came to introduce themselves to the MCU in the Infinity War. Considering they're adventurers and the such, they could also their own history of fisticuffs but in another spectrum of the MCU. It wouldn't be that odd in the context of themsevles to just pop up and this be one of these things they fall into. And to add more power to the good guys' side. More importantly, how they write them to be a definitive form for people to just accept and not be confused by new players jumping in. Then you get their flicks w/ some origin backstory so that everyone is hunky dory in getting some history on them.

I would love to see the FF property for Marvel though. That property has way too many big players in there. Interesting how Fox has Super Skrull but Marvel has the Skrulls. I'd love to read that paperwork.

Super Skrull was in Rise of the Silver Surfer, although they never called it that. And the Chitauri from Avengers are the Ultimate universe version of Skrulls.

Marvel doesn't have the film rights to Super Skrulls.

I'd prefer Disney vs Capcom.

Tag team of Vader and Stitch vs Akuma and Bionic Comando
