Not likely, but it is possible. There's a huge pile of the existing discs in the retail channels, unsold, so releasing a new boxset would be bad business. At best, there could be another Blu-Ray multi-film pack, with new cover art, which happens every so often with franchises like Rambo.

Sorry, I've just come back from six months in Siberia.

Is there any word of a new Rambo set?

I hope we don’t get a new boxset because there’s nothing wrong with the current discs. If they do though I hope they give us all new atmos mixes for the audio commentaries

The only way that you could improve the sound on the first three Rambo films and upgrade them to Atmos/DTS:X is to build a new surround mix, using all new sound elements mixed with the original ADR and music. That's not likely to happen, unless Stallone steps in and foots the bill himself.

It can be improved by adding in the original audio track on the first.....I dont care about the sequels

For those who DO care, the 2nd film's audio is far more problematic than the first one, which is very compressed and narrow compared to the original track's dynamic range. (The 3rd movie seems to be unaffected). And as many of us have written before, the 2nd movie's 5.1 has perennially exhibited serious problems, coming off as mono in many scenes when, in the original mix, there were clear discrete directional effects. It's a craptacular mix and has been for years.

Just putting the original audio mixes on the current discs would make this endeavor so worthwhile. Most fans aren't asking for another remix, just the original audio. Hopefully Geoff is right and Lionsgate gets it out there next year.

As I've written about before - Rambo II's sound came from a mono element because Studio Canal had lost the original 35MM 2.0 & 70MM 4.2 Dolby Stereo tracks in the shuffle between Carolco and Tri-Star. It was only recently they found them again in the Sony vaults and these original mixes - as well as a new Dolby Atmos mix from the 70MM six-track - will be on the new discs coming soon. Theatrically Rambo II had a GREAT sound mix and as soon as I got the DVDs I knew something terrible had happened. It's going to be night and day, and we can thank Lionsgate for this.

The whole cave seen is ruined by those grayish blacks on the current Rambo III disc. Of course it's the exact shade of gray that brings out all the lovely screen uniformity issues on my OLED too

Of the available Lionsgate Rambo 4Ks, does First Blood have the best encoding, etc.? That's the only one I really care about.
