Cliff has no control over what Lionsgate decides; must likely it will be through the "Lionsgate Limited" website and could be announced next month.

Rambo + M2 50 cal from the back of a jeep = beyond epic.

The weapons and artillery sounds (M1 mortar fire, akms/ak47s, 50 cals, etc. etc.) in Rambo 2008 are so accurate, percussive and bombastic that the 4k's audio track nearly blew me clean off my couch in that last full-on conflict, and that was just my old vintage 5.1 system in the family room. I think I even ducked a few times, instinctively. It's a tremendous effort and an exercise in realism rarely exercised to such an exhaustive extent in film audio with respect to accurate sound sampling. I love films that strive for a high degree of realism and accuracy when possible in gunplay and the use of military weaponry/artillery.

Hard disagree. First Blood is obviously the best but Rambo (2008) is very good, II is a good, solid, fun action shoot em' up, even III has its moments.

One thing I'm looking forward to about this set is finally getting to hear a fuller audio mix for Rambo II... the 5.1 mix is so thin! That alone will be worth the price.

For a second I saw this GIF and thought this was going to be announced as being in HDR10+ instead of Dolby Vision.

No, but I heard Cliff was producing a special DTS version with boosted bass and surrounds just for you.

Yeah; that's one of the more bewildering aspects of Last Blood. It lacks even the technical competence of the other sequels. Whatever their other issues, II, III, and even IV are at least expertly shot and edited. But Last Blood is just an absolute mess on pretty much every level.

This is the original version where Trautman offs him, right?

[Show spoiler](totally forgot the name of that HDR10+ troll guy who kept posting that GIF...)

It says a lot that I watched Rambo: Last Blood and My Name is Bruce in the same night and Last Blood looked no better.

Yup, same. Gotta say, though, the long extended sequence in which Rambo infiltrates the Soviet base by nightfall is a masterclass in pure physical acting by Sly. I just find him compelling to watch in the way one might a great silent-era performer.

But man did this movie need a director. Say what you want about Cosmatos, he defined Rambo for a generation. Part II delivers on all fronts.

And that dialogue -- ugh.

"Where are the MISSILES?!"
"In your ass."

I recently double dipped on the StudioCanal Part II for the superior encode extolled by Geoff a few pages back (also for the cover artwork). I figured for sure this set would be announced the very next day but it appears my sacrifice was in vain.

Sorry, I tried....
