Great if all are derived from 4K remasters. As others I would've imported the AU set but held off on it. Wonder if Lionsgate will re-issue the BDs to be BD50s and etcetera or if they'll use the initial BDs.
I love the theatrical cut of Alien³ as well as the Assembly cut. If they do bring it to 4K then it's gonna need a new transfer and one wonders whether Fox will spring for that re: the Assembly version. It was cut together on IP material so I guess Fox could scan that whole thing but I'd much prefer if they accessed the oneg and then re-edited the Assembly version from there, providing they can also locate the negative for those trims.

The Australian release is awesome, but even with the improved transfers and extras, there's an issue with the audio. The 5.1 DTS MA mixes are a total botch job, especially on II and III. Nearly all the stereo information is fed into the center channel and there's little dynamic range. Luckily they have the original 2-channel Dolby Stereo soundtracks (which sound great matrixed into surround as intended) on there, but whether or not Lionsgate gets that right on these UHD's...well I won't be holding my breath but hopefully they fix that up. Or at least include the original 2.0 stereo mixes on there.

They should sound phenomenal, both Rambo II & III had 6-track (4.2) 70MM mixes, Rambo III getting a 70MM Dolby SR mix which has tremendous dynamic range.

That's if Lionsgate or Studio Canal is doing the audio mixes. If it's Lionsgate, they may be getting new Atmos tracks.

I'm still waiting for Rambo 2.

I think it's in the vault next to Alien 2.

Definitely in for this, especially since I never upgraded 2-4 to Blu-ray. I don't like the fourth one much but I hope they include the unrated cut, which I've never seen.

I prefer the theatrical cut to the director's. It actually has less violence and the pacing feels off. It's still not bad but the cut is odd and feels like the work print. There are a couple of additional scenes I like but I could live without them.

I'm hoping the one disc has both cuts but if I had to pick just one, it's the theatrical.

Though the Rambo: First Blood II title and credits are very much shifted to the right of the screen. That can't be correct! Seems like a very silly thing to miss when it was being worked on for the remastered set.

It was an artistic decision. It is a subliminal reminder of the movie's right-leaning agenda!

They should but they don't. Hopefully it gets addressed for these releases.

The sound on the extended Blu-ray of Rambo (4th movie) is god-tier stuff. People can piss and moan about the extended cut removing the gore all they want, but the theatrical cut Blu-ray sounds like a ****ing wax cylinder* in comparison.

Most likely, those mixes are gone for good with the blow-up prints or at the very least, lost in the uncatalogued mess of whatever elements have been archived for the respective films.

I don't think Lionsgate is 100% behind UHD. I mean, they'll release something on the format but there's going to be minimal effort to make the release the best it can be. I saw no difference in PQ between the Dredd BD and the UHD and just a small uptick (better colors) in 3:10 To Yuma. And I don't even want to start with T2. Waiting for reviews before taking the plunge with LG titles.

If they use the remastered Mongrels and add HDR I will be ok with that.
