Anyone got any advice for collecting the films so as to acquire as much bonus content as possible?

Lionsgate put out that fantastic looking collection years ago which I first saw around 2008 when RAMBO was released, and then I figured "oh, well they'll do an even bigger version later!" which they, despite ample excuses to do so, never did...

Rambo is the original victim of police brutality. Rambo lives matter, lol

That’s the 80s for you, but the 2nd Rambo is the highest grossing of the series. It also was released the same year as Rocky IV. Go figure right?

FB was a Holiday release for adults and it got spit-roasted at the box office by ET and The Dark Crystal. Rocky 3 was in the Summer movie period and PG, so more people could see it.

Watching First Blood 4K for the first time on LG65CX via Panasonic DP-UB820 and I’m noticing the bottom letterbox bar is fluctuating from black to grey. Sometimes almost the entire area and sometimes just random areas and patterns.

I first noticed it when the sheriff is forcing David Caruso to look at the dead cop that fell from the helicopter and it has yet to stop. Currently at the man hunt in the woods when Rambo has killed the dogs.

It’s especially noticeable in a darkened room.

Anybody notice this?

Thanks

Check the last few pages of Alien Covenant 4k thread. There were issues there too that sounds like yours...

Italian 4K Cult series UHD has no such issues on my OLED. Also, a better compression in the dark scenes.

I think the question is still being begged, even after the announcement, as to which edit of LAST BLOOD this will contain.

Well the USA BD-66 has both cuts encoded separately on a single disc...

I think you may be referring to RAMBO (2008), not LAST BLOOD...

And he'd still be wrong, as that disc's a BD-100.

You're onto something. Stallone could spin off Rambo in a similar fashion as CREED. A black soldier returns home from Afghanistan only to discover that instead of being hailed as a hero, he's a victim of police discrimination. He befriends Rambo, as the two bond over their shared experience of police brutality. And the second half of the film continues from there with some action set pieces or whatever... I could see Stallone producing a film like this.

So, Sly, if you're reading this...

It actually says it's "likely" it's the theatrical cut, not confirmed. If it ends up being the theatrical, then I'm going to see if an international version of this is released, because they'll likely go with the extended version as they did before.

So this is the first/only 4K collection so far but won't contain both versions of Last Blood?
I've been waiting for an ultimate collection, but I guess this won't be it?

I know there was some discussion of whether the Russian subtitles were accurate for the 4k releases but does anyone know why the English subtitles are so off ? In many cases they are just abbreviations of what is being said. As someone who is hard of hearing I rely on accurate english subtitles. I am not totally deaf I can hear the sound effects, and I estimate about 70 percent of what is being said and then rely on the english subtitles to fill in the rest but for these releases are all but impossible for me to watch as I get very confused on what is being said. Think it as a puzzle I hear some words , the english subtitles fit into what I didnt hear in the sentence but when the english subtitles dont logically pair with what I could hear.

These Steelbooks are just the exact same discs as before I would assume? Digital Bits said there was some "new" content in that tweet they sent out but nothing I've seen anywhere else has mentioned that.
