Sorry typo. I meant deep. I have deep and color on auto and also find that hdmi uhd color is better left off on tv. Why receive through hdmi when u can receive directly from the amazing uhd tv? Much more color and brightness on hdmi
Off setting. I'm excited for the 4k master sony titles bc so far I find exodus 3d bd on the player more exciting than the 4k version.

I have Samsung JS9000 TV and the UBD-k8500.

What is the verdict for best settings so far?

JS9000 TV:
UHD on or off?

UBD-k8500:
Deep color on or off?
HDMI color format on or off?
While watching movies the video setting on the player should be set to Standard/Dynamic/Movie/Custom?

Thanks.

Don't doubt it. The PS4 is THE worst 3D player ever. The PS3 does 3D better than it! I'm really tempted to either sell my PS4, or box it up and put in closet until games worth playing on it come out.

And the PS4 is the slowest BD player I've had in many, many years. And one of the nosiest. But I wouldn't box it up. It's still a great game machine. Just a below average BD player though.

Overall I really like the K8500. It was easy to setup and to use. My only real complaint, other than the curve, would be the remote. It it were around 30% larger it would be easier to handle. I keep pressing the OK button by mistake. Instead of up on the D-pad.

DAMN!! I snagged those bad boys. That's a steal for a 4K title!

Got told yesterday in John Lewis for UK customers that they have had a briefing on the new 4k player and it is coming in March and they are going to sell all the UHD titles, however he didn't say which ones.

That's interesting re: John Lewis - though if I jump - if - I'm jumping on the Panny.

Depending on price I'm with you. I've been reading that the Pani was producing a better picture than the Samy.

There could be a couple reasons for that though. 1) it was playing on the DX900 next to a samsung KS9500. By all accounts the DX900 is the best LED to date for colour reproduction as well as inky blacks so maybe that's why the pani looked better.

2)the extra chroma processing Panasonic is employing in its premium model vs the samsung player.

It also should come with a free copy of the Martian according to Samsungs press release.

I really do hope it's going to come in under £400, ideal price would be £300 but no more than £350.

I have a gaming PC with a 32" 4K monitor, GTX 980Ti and Intel Quad core, and a Steam Library of over 535 games. PSWhat? Lol.

Even though Amazon also has the same price now, I cancelled my Amazon pre-orders and pre-ordered them from BestBuy.

Anyone can show me how the new 4K UHD Blu-ray menu looks? How does it compare to the Blu-ray?

FYI ABT electronics price on UBD-K8500/ZA 374.99 + no tax (for most) & free ship after signing up for emails and getting $25 code. plus ebates rebate should bring final price to 366.99

So far, over at AVS, the LG OLED users seem to be some of the few that arent having issues.

I've been watching regular blu rays for the past few days with the Samsung 8500 player and my Oled 55EF9500 and so far it looks great. I'm still trying to figure out the best settings for both the player and the tv, but so far I like what I see.

OAR for me as well. But, and I'm not sure how much it really matters at 4K resolutions it's always been odd that films originating in a higher resolution are presented at a lower resolution as the letterboxing is encoded into the image. It would have been nice if they'd come up with something to accommodate projectors and 21:9 televisions.
