You won't.
I'm really picky and the dark walls in my theater help in blend. Sometimes I don't even notice at all, especially in 3D. Consider it projection mapping. ![]() I do wish projectors or players had thicker electronic masking to cover it. |

Last night I started to notice a random "stutter" while playing a few blurays, similar to the occasional hiccup that you might get when the disc is dirty or lightly scratched. Do you think powering off/on player or a factory reset could fix it?

I notice just the little bit of light from the projector when it's a black bar below the screen. I would definitely notice the picture (and have in instances when I've blown up 16:9 content). It's very noticeable IMO.

I have to choose between watching it small or having it spill outside of the screen in those scenes. This is the issue: ![]() |

I'm not saying it is not noticeable I'm saying with a white screen and dark walls it is much less noticeable and when you're paying attention to the content it's not really a big deal. Google the concept video for' Xbox projection mapping' and you'll see what I mean. (Obviously it's much more noticeable in the video that you watch) It's something you'll get used to. |

This is just something that is very noticeable and distracting to me. Bars on the side (or top/bottom at the theater) are bad enough when there isn't masking. And like I said, even when I can tell the light from the projector for black bars is below the screen it bothers me. This is magnitudes more significant than either of those issues, and something I spent a good deal of money to prevent with standard blu-rays, just for the handful of titles that have it. |

Second, when I first got my Cinemascope screen switching aspect ratio movies drove me insane (Nolan!!!)... Now, I'm usually so invested in the movie that it doesn't bother me. |

I gotta wonder if Samsung, in their infinite wisdom, didn't short the processing power needed... Either that or their software doesn't allocate enough RAM memory for video buffering... So, the player chokes if it has to perform an intensive task.

Had the same issue watching Creed over the weekend. Had to stop playback and play again. Was just glad it resumed from the spot I got the error. Hopefully it will be fixed with a firmware update All in all still happy with the player as a 1st generation especially when compared to 1st gen Blu-Ray players Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I bought the Samsung UHD player when it came out in the UK at the same time I purchased The Samsung UE55KS7000 SUHD 4K TV. The Martian 4K came with the player and to be honest it looked worse than playing the standard Bluray on my pioneer. The picture was much more vivid and colourful on my Pioneer in 1080P!
I persevered by buying The Revenant and Deadpool on 4K UHD Bluray but to be honest I couldn't see any difference,in fact there was less detail on the Deadpool UHD disc than the 1080P Bluray. The Revenant was about the same, so I took it back. I tried testing it for two days but in the end I gave up. I paid £410.00 and it was a waste of money. We also have The Panasonic DMP-900 UHD player out in the UK. I went to the local to showroom to see that in action and that was very disappointing as well. I really was looking forward to the next generation of discs etc but it's been rather underwhelming so far. I just couldn't see the difference. There was no jump in quality or wow factor from the HDR. Netflix UHD looks damn good though on my 4K tv though. UHD Bluray not as good. |

Netflix and Amazon UHD look good, but no HDR from what I can tell and there is a noticeable difference between streaming and disc playback. UHDBDs look much better than the stuff I watched on Netflix and Amazon, that's not to say they looked bad though. |

This early generation UHD technology is not plug and play, unfortunately. It takes some particular settings choices and careful calibration. Even many dealers don't have everything properly set. I have five UHD Blu-ray discs and they all look superior on my 55" Samsung SUHD 8500 (2015 HDR10 compatible model) to the 1080p Blu-ray's given they are from a mix of digital 4k, 35mm, and upconverted 2k sources. I also bought new Premium Certified HDMI cables just to be certain that my older cables didn't give me grief. They were from Monoprice and not very expensive, but so far so good.
