On my TV one of the inputs is ARC so I have to use that input, I also have the ARC enabled on receiver. I think it's the connection method/ARC that's causing the sync issues.
If I connect player to TV and receiver then use an optical cable from TV to receiver, I bet the sync issues would go away |

I've had my UBD K8500 for almost a year and I flip out when I read all the issues with this player, issues I've never had.
I have the Samsung player plugged via HDMI 1 directly to a non-HDR Philips T.V. set and HDMI 2 to a Pioneer Elite SC LX76 from 2012 (well, it's not sold under the Elite badge in Europe) and the Samsung player has always been very reliable to me. |

I'm gonna change up my connections and see if it fix's the sync issue I'm having
So one cable to TV, one to receiver, one from receiver to TV, and finally an optical from TV to receiver for other inputs correct? |

The optical will be for Directv which is DD only anyways so that's fine, I connected player to receiver via hdmi so should be good there
I also connected receiver to TV with an hdmi for control of receiver and on screen adj's. One thing it's not doing now that it did before is change the receiver input when I change the TV input?? |

does anyone have any experience switching the resolution options?
I set mine to auto but I could also choose regular blu ray 1080, 4k resolution, etc. If I play both 2K blu rays (the majority of my collection) and 4k discs.. is AUTO the best choice? The main reason I'm asking is that 4k discs look really great, but a lot of my regular 2k blu rays appear grainier than I care for... especially older movies. On these titles they look better on my PS3..... |

I'll give that a try... I don't really want to have to switch back and forth from 1080 to 2160 based on disc, but I will if it makes a difference...

On my TV it looks like the sharpness is turned all the way up, more grain, artifacts etc, especially on older titles.
Some people like the extra detail and grain tho, not me |
