![]() At the end of the day, it's all about what looks good to you. I remind myself that online settings aren't gospel, and many pros say the same. We all have different tvs, peripherals, ambient settings and most importantly subjective tastes ![]() |

I'd still like to hear the settings from someone who has both a 203 & K8500 to say what settings to set each to make them look identical.

That's like trying to tweak setting on a LED Samsung TV to match the image of an Oled TV |

I've read 'Vivid' on the K8500 is closer to the 'Standard' output on the 203 than the K8500s own 'Standard' mode. (which yields some 203 bias immediately, btw) This would be an example of a setting that would make the output of the K8500 more similar to the 203. If the 203 truly is 'Reference' then finding the settings on the K8500 to match as closely as possible would be beneficial, for daily use and also proper A/B comparison. ![]() |

First: IF the 203 produces a 'closer' to 'reference' image, learning what settings on the K8500 most closely resemble the 203 is beneficial. Second: IF 'Vivid' on the K8500 is similar to the 'Standard' on the 203, it could explain the bias/preference to the 203 because of its extra 'pop'. BOTH things are worth exploring, especially since all it requires is one (critical) person with both players and it would benefit everyone else. ![]() |

I downloaded firmware version 1010 via the Samsung site and updated the player via usb stick and I was anticipating seeing Netflix with HDR. Now the Netflix application will not play any videos at all and I keep getting the error "Title Not Available for Playback" or "We're Having Trouble Playing This Title Right Now." Prior to this Netflix worked fine but would not play their select 4k/HDR titles with HDR I.e., "Daredevil, Marco Polo." Another thing I noticed is that sometimes when you go into Samsung's app area on the player, the player turns off the screen on my TV. Does anyone else have this issue?
At this point I'm sick of this player (issues with 4k discs not playing, slow loading times, crap remote, constantly having to switch the resolution when playing content less than 2160p, the aforementioned issues above) once I have the money, I'm going to rid of this player and purchase something else. |
