Sorry if this is off thopic but I'd like to ask, wich is the difference between HDR and Ultra High Definition Deep Color? I bought a 4K LG a year ago and it has an HDMI port with Ultra High Definition Deep Color....
Thanks in advance. |

Since the release date is getting closer, I'm wondering if Samsung will send out some players to popular tech sites for review prior to availability. Would like to see something on Engadget or CNET. |

You can enjoy any and all 4K streamed and Blu-ray Ultra HD content on your LG TV, but not with HDR so you will get 4K resolution with today's SDR, standard dynamic range. -Robert |

I also have a LG 4K...I believe the Deep Color setting is for expanded color from other sources eg a PC.

Disappointing to see that Amazon not only dropped the expected release date for the Samsung but also sent an email stating basically that they didn't know when it would be in stock. Sigh.

Maybe it's just cause they're so many preorders, the first shipment won't cover them all. |

Samsung tells me the week of 2/22 and that we're included in the very first allocation. It's not much different, but my information is a couple days later.
Other sellers have no date or removed their previously announced first allocation date. Anyway, looks like several authorized dealers will have a good allotment of Samsung's 4K BD player before the Ultra HD BD discs become available. So all is good for the March 1st launch of Ultra HD, HDR, WCG, 10-bit graded with PQ digital gamma on Blu-ray!! -Robert |

I posted this in another thread. Maybe I can get a better answer here:
So I'm probably going to make the jump right to a UHD player when they come out in March. I have the Samsung UN65JS8500 and a Sony STRDH750 that I purchased around 6 months ago. Do I need to upgrade the receiver? I'm not concerned about Atmos or anything like that. I just want to make sure I'm not going to run into any problems. |
