Not sure about the 2nd question, but it does stream 4k on Netflix. I've watched several shows and movies so far. It does not however offer them in HDR(not yet anyway).

Firmware 1004 has completely broken 4:4:4 for me. It worked fine on 1003. When I set HDMI Color to 4:4:4 the screen just flashes in and out like there's an EDID handshake error. Numerous calls to Samsung, and their reps don't even have a clue what 4:4:4 is. One of them told me the reason it's not working is because of my "old TV".
I have an LG 65EF9500, and Marantz SR6010. I'm so fed up with this player. If there was another option in the states, I'd buy it right now. |

Was it always like that for you, or just with the newest firmware update? |

That's why I asked about if the player menu being visible only after coming from the disc was in 24p. Because if it can't display at 60Hz but does at 24Hz (which is half the bandwidth) sounds similar to the HDMI 1.4 / HDMI 2.0 Level B 300Mhz 10.2Gbs limitation vs HDMI 2.0 Level A 600Mhz 18Gbs issue. |

Just since the latest update, 1004. The previous firmware worked fine, and I couldn't be happier. I finished watching a normal Blu-Ray one night, and was greeted with a firmware update to version 1004. Ever since then, whenever HDMI color is set to anything but Auto, I get intermittent intermittent cutouts. Signal flashes on and off. My Blu-Ray player is plugged into my Marantz SR6010. If I plug the Blu-Ray player into the TV directly, I don't have any issues. But that's not exactly an option for me. The Marantz SR6010 supports 4:4:4 and worked great before 1004. The Marantz passes through BT.2020 perfectly too on UHD4k Blurays. However, when I play a normal one and check signao info on my AVR, its only 4:2:0. Prior to 1004, I was able to run 4:4:4 for normal Blus. :/
