Do you have the Auto Motion (I believe it's called Smooth Motion in Vizio TVs) turned on? I originally turned mine off on my Samsung TV, but when I connected my UHD player to it, it automatically turned it back on. Once I turned it off with the UHD player connected, it remained off.

Because, if I'm understanding the feature correctly, movies are shot at 24 fps, but this feature adds frames to make the image 60 fps. Since movies and most TV shows are shot at 24 fps, it's best to leave that feature off. I pretty much only watch movies and TV shows on my TV, but that feature may be good for something like sports or news.

Reduce the setting to the bare minimum that you can stand. The blur or trail is just a by-product of LCD screens. Some of them have very little, some have a lot.

In the past I have seen the opposite where 60hz material looks worse (SOE or stuttering) but 24hz looks nice and smooth, but not too much.
For instance on my display I have trumotion off now for 60hz material, but it gets turned on for 24hz material. |

Well, if the goal is to display a more realistic picture, it worked. I mean, it feels as though I am watching the show through the lens of a hand-held camera that was filming the "Making of the Movie", like looking in through a glass.

Even if not using a device connected to one of the receiver's outputs. that device still sends a return EDID signal to the receiver via HDMI. This signal is conveyed back to the HDMI source and will be used by a Blu-ray player to determine what that player can legitimately output. I solved this by disconnecting my non-UHD projector from the receiver |

Are you using Monitor 1 and Mon 2 like mirrors? If so that is correct. The AVR is reporting that one device is not compliant.

At least my Denon receiver comes with "Dual Output", one with ARC and one without ARC. The Output without ARC had my HD projector connected, the other was empty up until I connected my new UHD Vizio TV. However, as long as Output 2 stayed connected to my projector, no 4K content was available on my Samsung UHD player. As soon as I disconnected the projector all 4K content was suddenly available on the Samsung

I think I will be getting the Sammy K8500 UHD BD player later this summer. Can someone please briefly run down a short list of firmware upgrades that the K8500 has had so far? Thanks......

I realize it's mainly for marketing, but the Samsung K8500 recently earned UltraHD Premium certification from the UHD Alliance. I'm now going on 3 very satisfying months with this player.

I just recently purchased the 4K Samsung player and overall I am very happy with it, it plays 4k disks great as well as regular Blu-ray but I have ran into a slight problem. When playing digital media off a USB stick it has trouble staying in SYNC with the audio and video and it just doesn't look like the picture is flowing naturally.
I have never had this issue on any of my other players and I have tried several different files, to assure myself that it's not the file. Has anyone else had this issue, know of any fixes? |

So far my new UHD setup is working wonderful...One thing I notice though is that when I play blurays (non-UHD) from the Samsung player to the TV (via Denon receiver, of course), once in a while I lose signal for a few seconds, and then signal is found again.
This ONLY happens when playing blurays. It does not happen when streaming from the Samsung to the TV vi Denon receiver, and it does not happen when playing blurays from Samsung player to my projectors. Do you think it is a matter of HDMI handshake? But if that was the case, shouldnt it happen no matter what I play, and not just when playing bluray discs from the Samsung player to the Vizio TV?? |
