Puddy (and Kris), good stuff, but puds, for the record the Pulsar is an LED LCD.

Ok. So after three months of being a very thrilled early adopter my machine is acting up. Started a Blu Ray tonight. When it asked me if I wanted to continue the movie where we left off I said yes. Then the tv went snowy like an old time UHF analog signal. Shutting the player down resulted in a blinking red light. Occasionally it blinks blue. But the player never started up again. The disc drive does open, but that's it.

Help???

Anyone have a solution for the audio just going out upon firing up the player? I'm running the separate hdmi cord to my onkyo reciever for the audio. Was working great then all off a sudden onkyo says no signal, seems like a handshake issue. I know it worked before please help, thanks in advance.
Switched out cord and still no sound so crazy it worked forever I guess I'll have to exchange. Boo.

OK figured it out, the Onkyo receiver will play the audio if I make the "HDMI input monitor" no instead of yes. But then all my other devices don't work kind of annoying to switch back-and-forth is there a way to fix that?

Have you compared to see if they look better than the regular blu ray of the same movie?

Yes, just like a 4K upscaled HD 1080 bluray. More details in the picture.

Dumb question, but can we watch UHD blurays in 3D?

There is no current spec for 3D at 4k.

I have been watching a lot of 2D content (from blurays to streaming) in 3D, using my new LG Oled 2D--->3D feature. It does a pretty good job, I must say. It adds a little more depth to the picture.

Not the same thing. You were asking about UHD. No native 3D or upconversion to 3D support at this time.

Oh I understand 4K is not available in 3D bluray format. I was asking if the 2D to 3D technology used for instance by LG could be applied to a 4K disc and get perhaps a little more depth overall

Ah, well, I misunderstood. I would look at the manual of the TV you're interested in to see if you can apply the 2D -> 3D conversion to UHD sources.

So far everything I tried to convert from 2D to 3D has workerd pretty well...The issue is that the same TV that allows me to convert to 3D is an LG OLED HD 1080 with no HDCP 2.2
Perhaps someone with a 4K/3D LG Oled can test this out and see what kind of results they get?

When playing a disc, is it possible to see the bitrate with this player? I've looked for this feature all around the menus on the player and I don't find it so I wonder if it's even available.

With Samsung it seems like they skipped it on the player. Bit annoyed about such a basic feature not being implemented.

My Sony BD player has that feature, but the Samsung does not (yes I have both of them connected to my AVR)

Many players do not have that feature. But it is standard for Sony players.
