Ahh, 85" that's why. It's a lot harder, at least for me, to notice huge differences when you go bigger. I didn't notice a huge difference between my old samsung 50" and my new samsung 55" but when I put it next to another 55", it was a big difference.

And I have the 65" LG E6 coming tomorrow!!!!

Edit.

in terms of HDR your nit brightness isn't good at all.

Your TV blows away his, to be honest, price not being a factor

stick to Atmos or DTS-X is better. I'm honest! People spend 1080p HDTV is so cheaper today!

It's all about NITS, right
Next time I go buy a new TV I will just ask how many nits the TV uses for HDR and I will base my decision just on that LOL!!

I gotta give it to you, the new Sony Z or whatever's PQ looks amazing.

But nits aren't everything. Besides, I do majority of my movie viewing at night in my dark living room. And my oled pushes 7 or 800. It's not that bad.

Please stop. This is not a brighter is better thread. Plus the E6 hits much higher than 500 nits. And depending on the Sony may not reach even 1000 nits. Either way, the perceived contrast ratio will be higher on the OLED as the black level cannot be competed with...

Nits are only part of the entire picture. I much rather pick a panel with perhaps less nits but greater contrast and better blacks

Thanks for the link! Ill be honest, I really don't know much about this TV stuff and what everything means. All I wanted was something big and 4k. I couldn't find much info on my TV when I was trying to do research (I bought it almost a year ago) but I picked it up anyway.

I would love to give the LG OLED a try, but I already have a 70" Sharp Aquos but I always thought it was too small. 85" seemed like the right fit to me and I didn't see anything OLED in that range. I love how blu ray looks, I was just hoping that since we finally got 4k, I would be impressed again.

A lot of the members on here have a lot more knowledge about all this new TV tech than I do. Especially when it comes to HDR. But I did a ton of research before I finally bought this OLED. I think I've made the right decision.

I think the biggest OLED is a 77" and that's something like $20k. I think you got a great value for how big your TV is. And as long as blus still look great, I think it was a good purchase. It'll be years before you can get an OLED at those prices.

How big is your living room that you need a TV that big?
