I keep mine off all the time, so you guys still watch DVD's?

I'm watching Star Wars prequel trilogy this weekend, The Phantom Menace is a pretty good movie I know people like to rip on it but it's well done IMO. Looked great with the new player too!

New sound system sounded great as well, I was able to play the original DTS soundtrack and switch to DSU mode to use the height channels. I thought the DSU would only work on Dolby Digital soundtracks??

What happens if you keep Deep Color on?

It might depend on the TV also. I will need a few more days to experiment with it set to On as this whole time I always had it off

Mine also reads 12 bit now with Deep color on...Isn't 12 bit greater than 8 bit? Something tells me to keep it on

My rule of thumb- if I don't understand what the setting does go with the consensus here, there are some seriously knowledgeable folks here

On your sound system when you play DTS soundtracks do you still get DSU?

With the new DTS:X firmware I now get a choice of DSU or Neural X when I play DTS encoded soundtracks

I have not gotten the DTS:X firmware update yet, did you get DSU option while playing DTS content before the firmware update?

Absolutely not. That was one of the things I was looking forward to, once the DTS X firmware was available. Now I can use all 7 speakers even on 5.1 DTS-H Master

I got the Dolby upmixing option on a DTS soundtrack, I thought you only got the Dolby upmixing on Dolby soundtracks, and DTS upmixing on DTS tracks(if you have DTS:X and Atmos)

Quick question - how well does this handle usb media files? (MKV, x264/5, xvid, etc) right now I have a sony 5200 that pretty much plays everything, so just want to compare. This player seems way better then the Phillips and Xbox player wise, but that would be the final thing for me.

Consider yourself lucky then to be able to apply DSU to any track.

Yeah sounded pretty good on Revenge of the Sith, just didn't realize the Dolby upmixing worked on DTS tracks.

Might as well run it through BOSE speakers while you're at it.

I keep getting conflicting reports online about this. Some folks are telling me off, some folks are telling me to go wide color gamut and deep color on for HDR.

The latter does make sense to me, but I've been listening to review sites and keeping it off. Any professionals here that can add on?
