I did the update but haven't noticed any changes. I'll take a look at my OSD. I read over at AVS that maybe this update fixed a few Atmos titles that experienced audio drop outs.

Tried loading the Gatsby 4K disc and I got the following

Cannot play this disc. The disc does not meet the specifications.

Had no issue playing any other 4K disc

I got a firmware update a few days ago (European version) but I don't see, as usual anything new. Maybe they are some ACSS codes in order to play new titles.

Knock on wood: I've had pretty good luck with this player so far. I do like it. Just wish more titles would start coming out that I want. However, I have been using it as an upscaler for Blurays and DVDs and have not run into any problems yet myself.

Yeah, I noticed that the other night when I was watching Angels & Demons. Long overdue to compensate for that crappy remote.

I have a s amsung ks9000 tv, denon x3200w receiver, and the k8500 uhd blu ray player. When i go into the blu tay player and select HDMI Colour Format to YCbCr (4:4:4) i get artifacts on the bottom half of the tv. Anyone have this issue?

HDMI Color Format on Auto is your best bet

Has there been any problems getting this player? My Target stopped carrying them/moved to the Phillips and HHGregg doesn't have one within miles. I have a $60 HHGregg gift card, so I had them order me one directly to the store, hopefully it shows up. Strange that they don't have one in the 6 or so stores around me. All sold out, wasn't sure if they faced manufacturing problems or demand is high.

I just bought this player. How come I don't get any UHD videos on amazon video app? Am I supposed to see " UHD" sign right next to the Prime logo on select shows right?

You have to scroll down quite a ways in the Amazon category list until you see 4k shows and movies broken down into their subcategories. There will be a little black UHD tag on the side of the title pictures as well.

The titles don't just start playing in 4k automatically. It's the same with Netflix. You must also have an adequate and sustained internet connection speed or a streaming app may drop you to a lower resolution.

In addition, with Netflix you must also be subscribed to their 4k programming tier.

You do, but it's easier to use now with that onscreen display. It's still a terrible remote though, no doubt.

If you rewind within the same scene the on screen buttons disappear after a while, so by the time you get to wherever you wanted to get you now have to use you physical remote agson

Did you try BestBuy? They have had the K8500 on sale for $250 for the last day or two. Even less for an open box.

I haven't noticed the on screen commands, guess I need to do a firmware update?

The universal remote I bought is def much nicer, one thing that is cool is it does frame by frame fast forward as well.
