I'm assuming that if I have the KS8000, that this player will work with the Smart Remote that came with the TV?

Yes you need high speed...there are some labeled premium certified. I use some inexpensive ones off Amazon...securomax if I remember correctly.

Best Buy was nice about switching them for me. This player is really quiet. 2 things I don't care for are the smallness of the remote and no lighted info display on the front.

Now I need to save up for a tv.

I'm gonna buy a new display later this year, my room is fairly bright tho at least during the day and I have read that OLED is not ideal for brighter rooms is this still true? I would want a 75"+ size as well, does OLED make sense from a cost standpoint?

I'm leaning toward an LCD display with FALD

A lot of new TV tech to sort thru, I just want to make sure I don't miss out on any new tech like I did when I bought my current 4k tv a little over 2 years ago-no HDR!

Probably will buy the OPPO as well to get DV support, wish this player would get the upgrade it's been solid for me

I purchased Deadpool from another location and it works perfectly fine. Must have been a strange batch of discs.

quick question.... when I watching movies from the usb drive mkv and mp4 files the movies show full screen. When I watch blurays its the normal 16.9...But when I stream the same files or play through my tvs usb slot it isnt full screen. I noticed the same thing on my panosonic player. What do I do to get it all to play non fullscreen?

Any of you with Denon receivers: have you noticed any difference in HDR picture quality when connecting player directly to TV as opposed to receiver?

Not sure if you figured this out yet. I assume you have a 4K tv set? My guess for this would be that the TV is not upscaling the files from the USB. I would guess the files are less than 4k resolution. There will either be a setting on the TV to view the files to fit the screen or it may not even be possible with the TV. The UHD player is doing the upscaling for you, that is why they are working when played from there.

Native...if I remember correctly, there was some good discussion on this in the 4K xmen apocalypse movie thread. Check that out.

I prefer Auto. 2160 or 1080 vs Auto are virtually the same minus the pain in the arse to having to constantly flip back and forth between resolution settings

He's talking about color space; you're talking resolution.
