Another cost saving decision, drop 3-D support on the 2017 UBD-M8500 and UBD-M9500. 3-D fans will be boycotting these two players from Samsung. As far as I am aware these are the very first 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray players that do not support the legacy Blu-ray 3-D format. At least OPPO, Sony, Panasonic, and others still support Blu-ray 3-D.

3D blurays are at the top of my list. I wouldnt bother with these new models. Just my bias opinion.

I use the cable company's HDMI cable without any problems. For a six foot HDMI cable is should work fine.

Unfortunately from the reviews I have read your TV is not capable of HDR which is one of the main reasons people buy a 4K player.

Thanks. I've had to Google a bit to learn the difference between 4K and HDR, but I know this is still going to look better than our current TV - a 28" SD TV that weighs a ton.

I bought my UBD-K8500 refurbished and it didn't come with a manual. I've downloaded a copy, but I was wondering whether there is a cheat sheet for most-agreed-upon settings? 255 pages is a lot to wade through, and the search option didn't narrow it down. Cheers in advance.

I guess I'm over straining the hardware since the HDMI audio out seems to be crapping out on me. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.

That could be why you have all those issues. Hardware is getting rusty inside with just to run in a year.

I highly doubt it ever will. This player is bound to be a HDR only device.

Oh Ok, These technology upgrades are driving me crazy. Last year I got my equipment upgraded for 4k HDR on the js9500, ks8500,xbox one s and atmos & dts:x sound system.
Got a break to do car staff, now here we are again with some dolby vision and hdr10 shit to keep spending $$$$ lol
