My Best Buy order finally updated late last night to being prepared for shipping. Hopefully it arrives by Wednesday. Still no update on the Fox UHD titles though. What happens if their website doesn't change the release date by Thursday? Can we just go into the store and ask them to change the order over to in-store pickup?

I have a pending charge from Best Buy but still not in "preparing for shipping". Even with expedited shipping you would think it has to ship very soon to arrive on Wednesday. Keep thinking of changing to in store pick up but with my luck my local store won't get it in and I would have been better off having it shipped. Just makes me nervous to have it sitting on the porch all day.

I have not been keeping up with the thread so sorry if its been covered.
This player will play 3D from current 1080P discs right? Will it play 1080P region B discs? (somehow I thought this player was region free, not sure why but that would be nice) thank you. |

This is not a region-free player. It respects DVD and BD regions. I'm not sure but I think UHD discs are region free, but the player surely respects the flag if it's there. Source: manual |

Wow, very good news about the speed performance.
Hopefully it'll get a VUDU app and Amazon too so I won't have to get a Roku 4. Although per Ray's comments, I'm not sure if I'll be able to play 4K MGo Vidity on my non-HDR 4K TV. And even if I could I will want it to be via download, not streaming. So hopefully the player will allow Vidity playback through external storage, so I can enjoy those UHD movies that are exclusive through that service. |

This whole loading speed thing confuses me.
I have almost 900 BDs which I have been collecting and watching for around 9 years. The average loading time (to the anti-piracy warning) has always been less than 10 seconds. Generally speaking, if I get up to put a disc in the machine, it has already loaded by the time I park my butt on the couch. Why do people have long loading times? Of course, I would never hook a player up to the internet. Is it the net connection that causes those awful loading times? I'd be pretty PO'd if a BD took 20 seconds to load. |

Maybe he/she started counting the PS3 & 4 time when looking for a disc, inserting & skipping previews & then hitting play... Then stop. ![]() |
