Thursday wouldn't be the end of the world, but I'll be home that day, so it would be cool to have it hooked up and configured Wednesday night and ready to go if I can get my hands on some UHD discs the next day.

BTW, what exactly is going on with the online preorders for the Fox titles? Is Best Buy gonna leave the 3/1 release date in effect? Will they be willing to convert to in-store pickup if the stores are selling them starting on 2/11?

I don't know. But since we've seen Fox UHD discs out in the wild, I would hope they ship any day now. It would suck if they made us wait until the 1st. I've got 5 movies on order from them and 5 others from Amazon.ca (which I don't expect to receive until mid to late March, especially the Sony titles).

Mine is showing "Preparing" right now and I just put my order in this morning. I had it preordered through Amazon but there was no movement so I cancelled it.

You can get the player tomorrow if you choose next day shipping from Crutchfield. I should have mine by 10:30 am.

But I preordered on the 15th of January so no surprise there. It says the delivery date is this Friday so we'll see. In terms of the Foxconnect movies, I ordered The Martian off of there and I have no clue what is going on. At one point it did change the date to February 9th but then went straight back to March 1. What I want to know is where did people get the information that Best Buy may have movies in stock this week? Was that strictly through what BB employees said?

And just so everyone knows, apparently there are 4k blu ray titles available on ebay for sale for about $40 give or take; where did those come from? I literally have to laugh at this release; no set date for the player itself still along with movies that may or may not be shipped at any point between now and March 1st.....lol

Despite the page listing saying "in stock", my order confirmation from Crutchfield says the item is "backordered".

I don't know if that's a good sign or not. If they're shipping out in random order then I may be one of the last. Another option would be for me to go to BB Wed when they open, buy a player if it's in stock, and then return the one being shipped later on.

I was thinking about doing that with the UHD Fox titles if they're on sale Thursday but still on hold on the website.

They informed me that I would receive the delivery april 15th/

I am thinking of canceling and placing my order with Best Buy.

The listing says it is in stock. I got an email shortly after saying it was backordered. I did a chat with CS and was told there's a chance they get their stock today and I would have it tomorrow, but worst case is their stock shows up tomorrow and I'd have it Wednesday by 10:30 am.

I do almost all of my on-line shopping at Amazon, but this is the first time the company has seriously dropped the ball on one of my orders. I just got off the phone with a clueless Amazon representative who was clearly following a script for what to say. I pressed him several times for any sort of projected delivery date and all he could say was "There is nothing in our computer to indicate an expected shipping date." Despite the fact that I had applied several gift cards to the order to get a pretty sweet price, I did indeed cancel my Amazon order.

The Best Buy web site has a projected delivery date for expedited shipping as Wednesday. I'm skeptical that I'll actually get the player then, but fingers are crossed. That's also the date the site lists as the official release date, which ostensibly means that the preorder price will no longer apply as of then.

Time to go apply those Amazon gift cards to some of the UHD discs on preorder.

The order for the Fox titles at my Best Buy store is listed with a delivery date of 2/11. I'm going to message the guys at corporate who deal with movies tomorrow to make sure the street dates are fixed before then. The last time I checked they were listed as 12/31.

Best Buy ships things based on how far you are from the nearest distribution center. My player probably won't ship til tomorrow but I'll still get it on Wednesday.
