My player is due to arrive tomorrow or Thursday, but I'm also supposed to receive the first of my movies on Feb. 15, about two weeks ahead of schedule. I ordered from Best Buy when it first became possible to pre-order, so maybe that made a difference for early delivery of at least one disc.

I might be able to give a layman's first impression on Feb. 16. I have a Sony 65" 850c, a mid-level model that has improvised HDR, so if it looks great to me, I would think it would pass muster for most people.

Mine just shipped. No details yet from UPS, but crutchfield says that I should get it by Thursday. Let the fun begin!

Sure, but if you already have one "secured" through a pre-order, what's the rush to actually receive it? There's nothing to watch yet.

I only have a Sony XBR65X850A so no HDR but I can't wait to see a 4K disc playing on this

Okay folks... just got a CALL from my local Best Buy (yup I'm a regular so they know me).

The person in charge of in store pickup said that i should be getting an email that the player is ready for pickup today, but to ignore it. They didn't get any inventory into the store yet and she wasn't expecting any till Thursday at the earliest. So it's looking more and more like Friday will be the actual in store availability date (like it was mentioned last week).

Darn i should have left my order to ship... oh well as long as I get it before the weekend it will be fine.

My Crutchfield order just shipped. Will be going to best buy tomorrow to look for discs. Hopefully that best buy guy in the forums can confirm disc releases for us.

Finally got a shipping notice from Best Buy. It's now awaiting UPS picking it up. I seriously doubt there's anyway it arrives tomorrow, but hopefully the 2/11 date they promised pans out.

I confirmed with the guys at corporate today that there are definitely no street dates on any of the launch titles and stores shouldn't have any problems selling them as soon as they come in. You should expect stores to not have these out right away since they don't actually have a spot yet. Also, they might have to dig around in the back for them since stores will be getting 10 times as many movies this week as they normally do because the movie department is getting a refresh.
