Hopefully that Feb. 21st shipping date is true.
5% rewards is given in points, so they'll give you points equivalent to 5% of the price.

Good deal. It sure would be nice if it was earlier. Ill also be curious as to when stuff like The Martian and Scorch Trials UHD actually ship.

Best Buy says 3/1 for the Fox UHD titles, but I'm sure that's tentative. Almost certainly sometime in March though. I can't imagine these won't be available the moment the Samsung player is.

Do both of these players support Dolby Vision, or is that unknown at this point?

Yeah very important for me too. Seems only LG was big on dolby vision on CES with all premium tvs.

And also missing CES-info about the first disc titles what kind of HDR they will support since all stickers just say HDR.....

So far the panasonic player looks better on paper to me. Like specially the 4:2:0 to 4:4:4 upscaling since they never did mandatory 4:4:4 in UltraHD specs.

The 4:4:4 upsampling sounds much fancier than it is, because any 4K TV will perform the same process using its own internal processing when fed a 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 signal (wouldn't surprise me if the Sammy player has 4:4:4 output too). Just depends whether the player does it better than the display, although while it might make a few test patterns look better it probably won't make a significant difference to real world viewing.

Preordered my Samsung this morning. I guess I will throw Mazerunner in there as well.
I had the first generation samsung blu ray player. Though cluncky, it sure was nice to put in blu ray for the first time on a 1080P TV.

For 399.99 I am in.

You still don't have to pay taxes for Amazon? The good news is that eBates and My Best Buy points offset about half of the sales tax I have to pay when I order through BB.

Not yet. Plus I love the free 2 day shipping. I haven't always gotten that kinda service from Bbuy.

That describes the Export function of the Digital Bridge. I saw nothing in the Samsung manual about that. Any idea where that article came from? Did AVS give the source publication?

The samsung won't support Dolby Vision either.

It's my understanding that the dolby capable chips aren't quite ready for mass production so the early 4k players are going without it.

A more expanded and premium version of HDR10. DV data will have a base HDR10 layer for tv's that aren't DV capable, and then the DV layer for tv's that are.

It's like TrueHD have a DD 5.1 base track for AVR's that cant decode True HD.
