This never happens with DVD or standard blu ray. Just the UHD blu rays. I am watching on a Samsung JU7500 UHD TV. Anyone else having this issue? Its probably something Samsung can fix in a firmware update in the future. But it is annoying though.
Have tried turning that "BD Wise" feature off in the player? It's only for Sammy blu ray players and Sammy TV's so I assume its on in your setup, just a thought. It's suppose to give you more of everything.

Using mine on a XBR-65X850B, and it works great. I do go through a Denon 910 too.

Maybe you have a bad HDMI cable or one that does not support 18.0Gbps?
Do you not have the glitch on the Samsung TV where Backlight and Contrast automatically go to 20 and 100 respectively? I've always had that with 4K content with HDR. I don't mind it so much anymore. I tweaked a few other settings, so I'm ok with the 20 and 100.

Emailed John Lewis as I was told in store the Samsung 4k blu-Ray will be available in March and the online store doesn't have a release date for it yet. So frustrating being a UK customer.

It's not a glitch, its in an instruction code embedded in the metadata to max backlight and contrast.

I think there's a small chance that Sony will update the PS4 in the meantime (even if it's only limited to 66GB discs), although it will be terribly frustrating if people buy Samsung player's and have PS4s!

I get the spike when watching HDR content, not any other type of 4K content. Does the JU6700 have HDR? I'm unsure.

Yes, samsung said that all 2015 4k tvs would recieve the hdr update, so you have decoding but what you actually see is dependent on your panels capabilities.

The spiking of those 2 settings is by the instruction of the hdr metadata.

Looks like it could be £399.99 if this is anything to go by.

Sony stated that the PS4 will never play 4K discs. The drive is not compatible. It could be updated for 4K streaming in the future however. There is also the possibility that they could release a 4K PS4 down the line though they did say.

Is this true? I didn't see anything regarding this. I have a JS7000, does it have HDR right now?

Yes the js7000 does have hdr.

All 2015 4k samsung tvs got the hdr upgrade via firmware.

Samsung announced this at IFA 2015 in october.

Hopefully £399.99 is the RRP and we get it for £350 or less.

I might have my wires crossed, but I thought with a firmware upgrade the drives could playback 66GB discs?

I think even the newer PC Blu-ray drives are capable with firmware upgrades. They just need software to recognize the content.

Js7000 is brighter but the 850c has much better black levels but worse viewing angles.

That was my first thought. I have the PS4 and it works fine for a blu Ray player. Gotta make space now I guess

Any word of LG will do the same and patch for HDR on their TV's?
