Has anyone else had an issue with getting signal dropouts? I have the xbr65x850c and ever since I updated my player a couple days ago, first-time discs will go to the greenish "no signal detected" screen upon hitting play for the film itself. If I stop the disc and start it again, it'll only then appear so long as I choose "resume film". For the record, this has been happening with Fox discs so far, specifically Martian and X-Men.

I ran my HDMI cable from the K8500 to my Yamaha receiver to the HDCP 2.2 port which was HDMI port #6. I then hooked up another HDMI cable from the HDMI output HDCP 2.2 port on the receiver to the HDCP (ARC) HDMI #4 port on my Samsung's Series 7 7100 break out box.

Since it seems you don't have a receiver hooked in line between your 4K player to your TV, just try to move your HDMI cable from your 4K player to different ports on the TV and try enabling BD Wise in the "Settings" box located on the lower right of your opening screen on the 4K player. See if that makes that dreaded message go away when you boot up a disk.
Careful with BD Wise. It can jack the sharpness level up on your TV's menu settings.

how does this 4k blu-ray player compare to Oppo 103D for both 4k discs and regular blu-ray discs?

I tweaked a bit last night by turning the RGB enhaced feature on (what a difference!) and setting the player's picture to dynamic. Normally I've never liked very bright or vivid pictures but the Dynamic setting really doesn't seem to overdo it. Color appears more in tune and the RGB really helped with some contrasting issues I was initially having. The Martian looks even more spectacular now and some of the other blus I popped in looked fantastic.

Yeah it seems HDR can handle dynamic mode just fine without it looking overdone. Kinda like turning up the volume louder than before without getting the distortion like you used to (might not be the best analogy).

Yes, I have it! I was having a slight problem with Kingsman when I first put it in, the picture was kind of cloudy and washed out but when I switched to RGB Enhanced and Dynamic Picture Mode, the picture changed dramatically. It was absolutely spectacular! I also have had a similar problem with the signal dropout and no signal message on the green screen but only occasionally. At the end, I'm extremely happy with this machine!!

Does hdr seem to look good with minimal adjustment on your tv?

Hey all, I got the player a couple days ago and we have a Vizio D55u-d1 and have made no progress on getting to play Kingsman or Martian in 4k. When we start to play the discs, "no signal" pops up and you have to turn the tv off and on again to get the signal back. When it comes back, the discs are playing back in 1080p. We have it plugged into the HDCP 2.2 port with and HDMI 2.0 cable. My girlfriend and I are becoming increasingly frustrated with it. Can't come up with a solution. Our setup currently is player directly into TV until we can sort it out. Anything you guys can suggest?

Sounds like you're having a prob with the HDCP 2.2 handshake, that's why the 1080 mode is coming up. Have you tried another cable? Are you having this issue with it directly connected to your tv? I had the old "cannot see HDCP 2.2 hardware" statement come up on mine going through my avr, I have since just gone directly to the tv and that took care of that.

Yeah, it's connected directly to the TV. We've tried probably 8 cables. Bought new ones thinking that was the problem and no luck so far.

Put it in Port 5 of the Vizio.

You will, however, not get HDR. I'm sure you already know that. It may not even be a 10 bit panel or have close to P3 color space capabilities given its price point. Be prepared for some banding.

We have it in Port 5 with no effect. (We knew going into the TV that it's the budget option but there should still be some gain from the 4K source, If we can get it to work of course)

Check with Vizio. They may need to issue an update. Port 5 is the only one that should work with UHD Blu-ray.

I reset everything to default to see if I had made any changes. No luck.

I had to change the HDMI setting to enhanced on my Sony 930C. Does the Vizio have that option?
