In Australia some supermarket chains are opening 1 hour early for senior citizens and handicapped people only so they have a chance to get essentials as they don't have the ability to go from store to store like these idiotic, selfish, stockpiling hoarders.

No - it's not a meaningless chart. It shows that 29% of the USA's population is more susceptible to the virus based on age alone.

After Monday it scares me to think what a McDonald's drive through might look like, it's already bad enough as is.

Stay positive, safe and healthy is possible people and consider others well being during this scare.

Material things are the least of our worries at the moment.

I'm in that age range and consider myself healthier than the average person, as I rarely get sick. I worry more about my mother and older relatives. If it's my time, then shit. My bucketlist will go unfinished.

What is disturbing to me, is the people I see coughing and sneezing and not covering it up. Very stupid, and inconsiderate to those more prone to infection.

The 16% age group will have the most deaths.

The situation in Melbourne is not good at the moment. Most if not all sporting events have been cancelled(or will have no crowds and still play), with many events cancelled or postponed that help to boost the city for tourists, locals and particularly the economy which will be heavily affected. Considering how much panic buying is going on at the moment, buying BDs is probably one of my lowest priorities right now.

Massachusetts is allowing takeout and food delivery only, banning people from dining out.

What we need are draconian measures like this one!

I'm sure they will follow. They won't want to miss out on all the money. Good luck mate.

I'm more worried by the consequences of people's stupidity and selfishness than I am the virus.

I've personally ordered a few movies as the quarantine starts, but I can understand Blu-ray not even being on the mind of many, especially those with a lack of job security during these trying times. I plan on buying more, but if Amazon decides to stop shipments for awhile, then my buying will decrease for sure.

Amazon sells various grocery items as well. Their business will undoubtedly increase as people order more online instead of going to local stores. USPS, UPS, and FedEx will all be getting increased business too. It's highly unlikely any of them will shut down.

I hope not... Hopefully this Covid 19 dies down. With all the sudden freaking out and the past 10 years of random statements that we should be due for another Black Death like Plague due to historic records blah blah blah...makes me wonder if the governments of the world haven't decided to band together and cull us all so that we don't encroach on their precious habitats and produce to much Carbon dioxide and Methane gases...where did I put my Aluminum foil???!!!

This could be pretty bad since the previous recession put an end to a lot of the market, but who knows?

I hope this isn't bad for enthusiasts. Talking from experience, I lost my job in 2014 (after two years of the company's decline) and ended up having to sell about half of my collection to pay bills. Thanks to my current job, I've been able to collect discs more like I was around 2010, but I still think about what it was like to have to part with literally hundreds of discs just to stay solvent.

Obviously, discs have to go if you have your family to take care of, but it would be awful for the industry as well considering we're really getting a lot of neat stuff that wasn't possible even 20 years ago.

As someone who sells collectible physical discs on Amazon, business has tanked completely in the last week or two. People are panicking about survival and the last thing they are focusing on is a physical Blu-Ray disc. I know it's priorities (food, essentials come first, of course), but I also think many feel buying physical may be contaminated from a stranger, but any physical item could be at this point.

This will definitely hurt sales from the boutique labels and majors, as well. Considering the major studios are halting production and distribution on so many of their new/big films and tv, I can only imagine how poor sales will be for the boutiques during this time. Maybe some of these boutiques should slow down a bit on their release schedule? I want more so I hope not, but if their new releases bottom out, that won't be good for the companies.

I do know right now, I'm holding off buying any discs coming out right now until we see how the cards fall. Health and safety for all is all I care about. This will definitely not be good for physical. I hope it can recover after the dust falls, but considering so many will lose their jobs and such, it doesn't look good.

New movies are not a priority nor a necessity if the productions are temporarily ceased. Grocery stores, restaurants are more important, where we need to buy food, water and other household items. This is why it's good to have some money saved for a rainy day in case of an emergency, when a person is unable to work if the company is not going to pay their employees for the time off if they shutdown.

Don't be misled that only "old people" can contract COVID-19. Here in NM we have 4 new cases: man in his 20s, two men in their 30s and one man in his 40s.

As I posted (I think) a few pages ago, the CDC said that yes the elderly are most susceptible to death but if you have Diabetes, Heart Disease or Lung Disease you join that group at the head of the list.

Take precautions. Now is not the time to fall prey to human folly.
