It's up to us to get back to normal. Let's all get back to work in 2 weeks. We don't need to help contribute to flattening the curve in order to give hospitals a fighting chance in containing and treating the virus. And we especially don't need to wait for there to be a mass manufacturing of necessary items like ventilators before we get back to work.

Our corporate overlords demand it.

What a bizarre day. Was at the beach and it’s so surreal to see not a single person in that area. It’s kind of beautiful if it wasn’t for the underlying threat. I could hear the crashing waves and as I approached the park, I have never seen so many birds or heard different bird noises in my life.
You can hear nature rather than shouting, screaming and traffic.
Also noticed that the very few people who are out (mainly in the park) are saying hello as they walk by. Not typical behaviour in my city.

Bizarre but beautiful, contrasted to the virus itself which is terrifying and relentless.

Outside of work and the few times I can hang out I'm pretty anti-social too. Yet, this thing is killing me. Not having much space and only one TV to use means I see the same four walls all day long. Good for a weekend, but not two weeks straight. My anxiety and depression would be through the roof if not for my medication. This has got to end soon.

Still, social distancing is not everything that it's cracked up to be. It's one thing when you’re married with children, but it’s tough when you live alone. I always like going to restaurants and such on most days, just because, for a few seconds, another person is smiling at me and asking if they can help get me something. The concert cancellations and running race cancellations are bumming me out, because these things give me something to look forward to on any given month. My introvert self gets to enjoy a cohesive community time with like-minded people at such events, and it's rough to have them removed from my schedule.

I understand completely. I can be anti-social and I don't like people, generally speaking, but this is killing me. It's like a prison. Staring at the same 4 walls is nerve wracking. And my bank account is really feeling the hit. Think I might have ADHD as well. Add to that my ongoing anxiety and depression and you get a lethal combination. I'm not worried about a virus killing me. I'm more likely to do it.

I guess the Chinese did autopsies and in a bunch of cases there was restriction of the airways and the mucus that was filling the throat and lungs hardened. So they're saying as a preventive measure to drink plenty of hot liquids.

I really don't get this virus.....yes, statistically it seems to be more critical for older people...

However - you have a completely healthy 10 yr old in the US fighting for her life on a ventilator - and you have a 98 yr old in Italy who was infected and hardly had any symptoms...

I posted a few articles on intravenous ascorbic acid earlier, here's something I didn't expect to see:

Dr. Andrew Weber, a pulmonologist and critical-care specialist affiliated with two Northwell Health facilities on Long Island, said his intensive-care patients with the coronavirus immediately receive 1,500 milligrams of intravenous vitamin C.

Identical amounts of the powerful antioxidant are then re-administered three or four times a day, he said.

Each dose is more than 16 times the National Institutes of Health’s daily recommended dietary allowance of vitamin C, which is just 90 milligrams for adult men and 75 milligrams for adult women.

The regimen is based on experimental treatments administered to people with the coronavirus in Shanghai, China, Weber said.


“The patients who received vitamin C did significantly better than those who did not get vitamin C,” he said.

“It helps a tremendous amount, but it is not highlighted because it’s not a sexy drug.”

I get 15-30g intravenously a few times throughout the winter here, lots of other stuff in there too like Mg, Bs, various amino acids, etc., but the C is the main reason I get it whenever I'm feeling bogged down from the weather.
