IMHO those are the only 3 options for them.
I wouldn't be surprised if that same park is full on Monday again due to the weather. I really wish people would take this more seriously so we can hurry up & move on from it.

At this stage, you can no longer rule out the possibility of a second wave outbreak, which means our resolve at social distancing measures has to continue through 12 months or so, until everyone gets the first vaccine.

Even Ebola had a second wave outbreak. There is no way to predict how history will unfold, given that the virus is let out of the bag

Learn what you can, from previous pandemics like Ebola. For many of us, though, we may feel entitled to "personal freedoms, etc." and have never experienced pandemics before, and so this will be challenging or humbling times. For example: when it comes to interpreting the meaning of "social distancing"

OK, here's the thing: you don't need to be a rocket scientist to learn to properly wear an N95 mask. There are plenty of videos on YouTube to show you how it's done, and they're just 2-5 minutes, so, really, it's not that hard to learn.

Here's the video from 3M, the manufacturers of the N95:

Personally I can't imagine anyone who couldn't be bothered to watch a 5-minute video, when failing to adequately protect themselves (or their family) could lead them to experience a deadly case of coronavirus....

The US enters crucial weeks after a grim milestone of most deaths reported in one day

Quote:
The US reached a grim milestone with the highest number of coronavirus-related deaths reported in one day, and officials are warning the next two weeks will be crucial in the fight to stop the spread.

With 1,344 new deaths reported Saturday, the US had the most fatalities recorded in one day.

That brought the nationwide death toll to at least 8,496 people, with at least 312,076 infected, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The big test will come in the next few days, said Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus response coordinator.

"The next two weeks are extraordinarily important," Birx said. "This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe, and that means everybody doing the six feet distancing, washing your hands."

Social distancing measures already appear to be paying off in Washington state, Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases said, calling the measure "our most important tool."

As someone who has suffered from severe social anxiety since childhood, it’s been quite wonderful walking through empty streets, parks, beaches etc..

Obviously, that’s countered by the devastating cost and the fear of loved ones getting infected. I realise this viewpoint will more than likely be in contrast to most of the population. On the plus side, I love my own company so this hasn’t been as challenging as it might have been otherwise. As long as I can keep in touch with my family who I am close to and see my small circle of friends on social media, it’s fine. Years of putting up with this horrific mental illness has prepared me for this time.

Why are you walking through parks and beaches? You should be home. The government has warned of possible stricter measures if people don’t follow the current rules.

Job mate. I work with adults with autism and various other special needs. 1 hour exercise is absolutely crucial, especially considering I have been taking my client to the beach for the last three years, routine and all that.

I am following the rules. It’s 1 hour exercise. Mental wellness is every inch as important. I’m classed as a key worker.

That grossly contradicts the account you give of yourself in your previous post, but I’ll just have to take your word for it. My OH is a nurse and I’d hate to think your making stuff up.

Can you explain? My job and my home life are two very different things. I get home, I stay home. I can’t see my family as I live alone. Where is the contradiction?

If you mean the social anxiety bit, that’s the challenge that millions with this mental condition face. You have to get on with work etc.. That’s where the challenge comes from. I have a mortgage I’m still paying off, I have expensive hobbies etc.. i can’t just curl up in a ball and give up.

By the way, I have done this job for seven years, but thanks for doubting my integrity. I think you maybe didn’t like the fact I had a ready made answer for your post. You were ready to tear into me.

Like I said, I’m just gonna have to take you’re word for it. You don’t owe me anything, if you’re being truthful great, good on you. If not, well, that’s something you’ll have to live with.

My post was just offering my take and my personal experience of this. Why anyone would lie about having severe social anxiety and then lie about working in Social care? It’s not like I am saying I’m a stunt man or a professional poker player?

Really odd post from that guy. I recognise that Social Anxiety and a job in Social care are maybe a contradiction. However, that is the complication of such a severe condition. It’s facing it or slowly fading away. I’m sure people even in this thread (never mind the forum) could identify with that.

Can you explain where you are coming from please? I just don’t get why you are hinting that I’m lying. Please just say it, if you have something to say. We are both adults. It’s not very nice to call someone a liar.

You come on to the thread saying how much you’ve been enjoying walking through parks and beaches during the lockdown on the very same day the government has said it may close parks and beaches and impose stricter measures because people are not respecting the current measures. And when questioned you play the I’m a carer card. I have no idea if you’re playing games or if you just don’t consider how your posts may come across, I’d like to think it’s the latter.

I didn’t say I was sunbathing or doing naked yoga. I’m exercising with my client for one ****** hour! Like every law abiding citizen is doing. I am keeping my distance and I carry a card stating I’m a key worker. That’s the only ‘card’ I’m using, literally.

Thanks for completely derailing my post by downplaying individual feelings and struggles along with questioning my character and integrity. I thought this thread was somewhere that members could come and be more open then they normally are and give an account of their personal experiences. I was wrong.

Cheers for that.
