You know why the deaths in the US are as "low" as they are (and by no means do I consider this low - it's staggering) and not as high as they originally forecast? Because the "fearmongering" got most of us to stay the F*** home, drastically reducing the numbers over the weeks. Polls show the vast majority or people still support staying home and waiting it out a few more weeks, and have no plans to return to shopping, haircuts, theatres, etc., even if they do open sooner. Thankfully there are some people that are taking this seriously. That's not fear-mongering. That's common sense.

They haven't been shipping to the US for weeks now. If you have pre-orders in, they are (so far) still filling them thankfully. But you can't place any new orders.

What is the 14-day guideline, more specifically? I didn't see anything in the article.

I can't imagine it's, "The total count of new cases each day should be lower than the day prior for each of 14 straight days". That seems virtually impossible to meet at the moment.
